Awesome for Video games and Sports
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this in 2017. I am pleased with it. I play PlayStation 4pro and watch sports and movies. Everything is crystal clear. HDR is very noticeable. My only gripe is I wish I got the 55” instead. But, as long as the specs remain up to par, I’m keeping this bad boy until it dies. Highly recommended.

Great 49" TV from SONY!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this 49-inch Sony 900E to replace a Samsung MU8000 49-inch set. Blows the Samsung away with the Full Array Back Lighting w/ local dimming (FALD); Worth the extra pennies for that alone. Smart TV interface, Android, is a little slow and jerky but workable; can be replaced with a Roku or AppleTV if needed. This TV is located in a bright living room and the brightness of the TV set is good enough to cut through glare (set at '20'). Over the air (OTA) network channels look good upscaled and I have the "Reality Creation" setting set at 'Auto' which I think helps it look good in my eyes. The "CinemaPro" setting is probably the best preset for a majority of people that don't want to tinker with the settings. All-in-all a great TV set that I would highly recommend while supplies last!!!
I would recommend this to a friend- Pros mentioned:Picture quality

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 49 inch makes it very difficult for me to leave my home. It is so hypnotic due to the picture clarity, I have become entranced. I love it so much. p.s And that is without cable TV!!!

49" Sony 4k HDR tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this 49 inch Sony 4k HDR tv couple of months or so ago and it was the best investment I made.

Very Disappointed in Sony Quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just received my second x900e, after my first one died after just 5 days of use (screen went black and never turned back on again). This new unit, fresh out of the box, has two large green artifacts permanently on the screen, no matter the input or setting. To say I'm disappointed in Sony is an understatement. Add in the inconvenience of having to return to the store twice now to return this product and you can be assured I will never purchase another Sony television again. This is a shame because the picture on this set (when it worked), was great. I can't recommend anyone purchase this based on my experiences. It's incredible to me that I have two Vizios (one of which I was replacing with this TV) that have performed for 5+ years without a hitch, yet this so-called "premium" brand can't deliver one set that works.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Q: QuestionWhat are the width and height dimensions ?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer 49 inch TV is 43 1/2 inches wide, about 27-28 inches high on the stand. I have it on top of a Zvox sound base and that added 3.5 inches to the height, so measure your space before you buy any TV.

Q: QuestionCan the remote control be used manually too? I realize the provided control is a voice remote control, but if using headphones while watching tv to avoid disturbing others I do not wish to have to talk to change channels or access tv features.
Asked by Buyer6.
- A:Answer Yes. The remote can be used manually. It has a very nice layout to it.

Q: QuestionI would like to use my Bose headphones with 3.5mm plug with this set? What adaptor(s) would I need?
Asked by Headphones.
- A:Answer It will plug right in. I have a 20' extension with no apparent audio loss on mine.

Q: QuestionHello. Is the screen on this the glossy shiny reflective screen or the matte (non shiny) screen? Thanx.
Asked by Pat.
- A:Answer Yes it’s glossy but not as bad as some of the TVs I’ve owned before

Q: QuestionWhile watching my Direct TV programs or streaming iTunes programs, am I going to see any ads/popups or banners from the installed Google Play apps etc?
Asked by Ken.
- A:Answer No. No ads other than regular TV commercial breaks. I suppose you might see an ad if you are running an app, but I haven't seen any ads on those either.

Q: QuestionIs this tv Directv ready?
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer Yes, but Direct TV will need to provide an extra input box if you want 4K television content. The good news is that the interpolation software on this TV is excellent for conversion to 4K display and if directv ever gets more than 4 lousy 4k channels, it might become worth it to get the 4k box. I didn't bother, but that doesn't mean I won't get 4k from them if they have more to offer.

Q: Questionis this hdr good enough in picture quality or is it just able to play hdr content
Asked by marcello.
- A:Answer It does really good job upscaling regular image but in HDR is stunning. Remember HDR is the future.

Q: QuestionDoes this model support the xfinity stream app by Comcast?
Asked by Nantucket.
- A:Answer The answer from Comcasr / Xfinity is "NO." That would obviously undercut their cable service. Apparently, a TV (even an Android TV) isn't considered to be a "Device."
