As a laptop replacement it is awful.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to have a much smaller and lighter machine to throw into my bag on days when I didn't have to do heavy programming work. I was thinking I could use the iPad Pro for casual note taking in meetings, to SSH into some remote dev machines on the days when I needed to get some work done without my Surface Book and to use it for light Bible study with Logos. The LTE is one huge advantage that the iPad Pro has over Macbooks and Surface devices and was another draw for me. Not having to fiddle with a hotspot was a HUGE plus. Unfortunately, this thing has become most useful as a third monitor for my desktop at home. Why? Well, as an SSH client it lacks ... an ESCAPE key. Crazy, but there's no escape key in iOS. No page up / dn, etc. on the keyboard either. How a $1200 tablet is missing a feature that every dumb terminal I have ever used has is beyond me, but that is what Apple has done. Second, it is painful to reach up to the screen to interact with the screen. A trackpad would be a much better pointing device. The OS is a bit buggy. On occasion I lose keyboard input. Not sure why, but forums seem to indicate other people have this issue - but iOS 10 seems to have solved their issue. Looking forward to that. With Word and doing Word processing - the lack of a trackpad on occasion gets in your way. Split screen doesn't work with ALL apps so if the app you want to split the screen with doesn't support it - you are unable to work efficiently. Also, you cannot open two Safari tabs side by side. Crazy. Yes. But true. iOS 10 will fix this it sounds like. Lots of apps do not take advantage of this screen size - optimized for the smaller iPads instead. So lots of apps just look fuzzy and ugly. The pencil works great! Better than the Surface Pen, except for the charging bit is a bit awkward. But it gets pretty decent battery life and you can charge it up to a useful level in under a minute. Overall - it is WAY too much money for these kinds of issues. I was seduced back to iOS because of the LTE, but I should have gone with a MacBook or a Surface. I already have a laptop so I thought this might be better. Lesson learned.

Best for note taking and as a second monitor!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After excruciating research among the heavy-hitters of the tablet world, I decided on the iPad Pro 12.9. I couldn't be more glad to have chosen this along with the Apple Pencil. I am no artist but I do take tons of notes and the 12.9 inch screen in its lightweight body offers tons of versatility. Apple's native apps such as Notes, iBooks, and even the native PDF viewer offers tons of easy to use note taking tools.

Great iPad, almost a laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my fourth iPad and my first iPad Pro. The performance is not miles away from from my iPad Air 2. But combined with the increase in size and the Smart Keyboard, it makes a great alternative to an actual laptop. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

Beast of a Machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely love this thing, I also purchased the ZAGG Case that also is a Keyboard, It pretty much looks like a Macbook Air! It's super fast, reliable. And has plenty of space. Can't complain about it, It's everything you would need in a tablet.

Ok, after first exchange
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first one had some bugs, It wouldn't charge or it would go into "flashing" death roll. The first month consisted of a trip to Best Buy(Chico), a trip to Apple Store(Sacramento), another trip to Best Buy(Sac) and a trip to the Apple store(Sac) where they replaced the Ipad. The second Ipad seems to be working well.

Ipad as large as some computers!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was time to upgrade the iPad. This was a great move. Larger...heck, yes! the screen is almost as large as some computers. Fast & easy to use. A great product.

Love my iPad Pro 12.9!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have basically had every single iPad that has been released since its inception and this one has been the best for me. I used a Brydge keyboard with it and it has become a laptop replacement for me. I have an iPad Pro 9.7 as well that I gave to my daughter because I wanted the larger screen, even though it doesn't record 4K video and has an inferior camera. I never take pics with my iPads anyway and if I need to shoot 4K video I use my iPhone 7 plus. I also like that the Lightning connector suppports USB3, so it uploads digital photos faster.
