After about a year of hearing how great air fryers are, I broke down and started shopping for one myself. Stayed away from the air fryer's with teflon in them, and found this non-toxic gem. Wish I had purchased one of these a long time ago! I've made veggies, tofu and appetizers, and everything has cooked great! I like that you can see it while it is cooking! I've been putting a cutting board under it in case it gets too hot, but I don't think it would be an issue if I used it without. It is easy to clean, works quickly and has to use less energy than heating up the regular oven!

Conflicted feelings
So we use this every single day for something and it has become a staple in our kitchen. That being said using it that much has caused the heating element to crap out on us twice. We purchased the first one Nov. 26, 2023 and had to buy a new one Feb. 22, 2024. Now it’s Nov 16, 2024 and here we are again having to buy yet another one. Why not take advantage of a warranty you ask? Well because the link Amazon provides to contact Big Boss is a dead web link and there isn’t any contact information for you to use. It’s like the company doesn’t exist?? That is the biggest con for us is it hasn’t even been a year and we are shopping again for an air fryer. Very disappointing. We enjoy the size and for me the warm light is nice, also being able to see what you’re cooking is wonderful for someone who is forgetful or just in general. We’ve warmed food, cooked steaks, chicken nuggets, veggies, you name it. I just bought a whole chicken to cook and wouldn’t you know it, the air fryer dies on me. Sad! But overall I would recommend - just go into it knowing if you buy this and use it, you will not get longevity from it and Amazon will not help you get another one or utilize a warranty. There’s also little contact info for Big Boss. So if you’re cool with that I say give it a go.

EDIT January 5, 2024. It broke already, less than 6 months of use. I noticed when I lifted the top to turn over my steaks. Normally, lifting the head unit using the handle causes the handle to raise and the unit to shut off. Raising the handle no longer causes the unit to shut off!!!!!
Very good -- except for the racks

I cook steaks in this. After a bit of a learning curve as to time/temp it does a pretty good job of producing medium rare. I find it works best when cooking from frozen. A note on the glass bowl, it's very easy to chip the edges, especially when washing in a large, enamel sink. Maybe a stainless sink would be a little easier on it, a little less apt to chip the glass if you manage to tap it, but anyway what I do now is leave it in the plastic holder, place it in the sink, carefully wash and rinse, etc. That all being said, one night I left the high cooking rack soaking in a couple of inches of soapy water. (The rack was upside down of course.) The next morning it was rusty. A week or so later I left it again, and next morning it was very rusty. The metal is some kind of cheap white metal, and who knows if it's toxic. It leaves greenish color on paper towels used to wipe off excess grease, and on the sponge. The photo shows partially washed rack. Just wanted to let people know the rack is made of some kind of cheap metal, and I am now looking for an actual stainless steel replacement.
