I can't give medical advice on this product, but can say that it is easily digestible. It tastes creamy and vanilla-ish. I have a hard time with dairy products. Always have. I have been using this for 2 months now. I decided to use this to help stave off hunger and it works. It works even better with Pea ProteinNow Foods Pea Protein, 2 lbs I steam veggies like Spinach, Kale, Endive because they are easier to digest for me. I use the juices too and mix a cup of this with all kinds of berries. You really don't taste the veggies. I don't add sugar. It's not real sweet but that is fine with me. I'll add either Almond or Vanilla extracts- 1/4t. I use coconut milk for more liquid. I am not a picky eater. I have lost 8 pounds in the last 2 months. That's slow but slow is better than fast weight loss. I'll have a light healthy snack, then light lunch and dinner. But I am done eating at 4pm. I am not hungry. Light workout every other day. In bed by 8:30pm to get up and 5:00am.

i have used Jarrow Brown Rice Protein for the last four years. I use a Genuine Sundesa Blender Bottle 28-oz Wire Wisk Shaker Mixing Ball Protein Water Sports Fitness Bottle and also stir the rice powder to aerate it. This combination of techniques makes it easy to mix; it's a little easier if you make sure the Sundesa ball is already in the shaker, but it will make a good shake even if you forget. My favorite fruit juices are Ocean Spray 100% Juice No Sugar Added Cranberry Juice 64 oz or, if it's out at the grocery store, another Ocean Spray 100% Juice product mixed with Cranberry juice. On other days I use V8 100% Vegetable Juice, Spicy Hot, 11.5-Ounce Cans (Pack of 24). (I usually buy one bottle at the grocery store, rather than order a stock of 24 cans.) To diminish the spiciness, I start with 4 oz. of water and then fill the Sundesa bottle to 16 oz. with V-8 juice. I'm sure that other juices will work, or you can mix a banana and almond milk as a base, if you have a mixer.

To make the mixing smoother, I stir and smooth out the rice protein before I measure it into the juice in the Sundesa bottle. If the listing for Vanilla, below the chocolate that comes up from the link above, doesn't work, the Vanilla flavor of Jarrow's Brown Rice Protein, as Amazon did not have a direct link. Now there is a direct link, as I've shown above.

This is an inexpensive form of protein, currently $11.74 for a container. I have a 1 1/2 tablespoon measuring spoon, and use two of them (or sometimes less) of the rice protein for the 16 ounces of juice. That provides 17 grams of carbohydrates, 15 mg of sodium in the Low Sodium V-8 form, 90 calories, no cholesterol, and 4 1/2 carbs! Also, 2 servings of vegetables in the V-8 Juice form. I buy three canisters of Brown Rice Protein by Jarrow - 1 Pound and they last me two months if I'm using this protein for shakes every day. That's about $36 for 60 shakes, or less than sixty cents a shake, not counting the juice.

A Thorne Research Vanilla Shake for the JJ Virgin Diet, for example, costs $60 for a 30-serving canister, has more calories, and also has a lot of nutritional additions as well as some fruit flavorings in addition to the vanilla flavor. Thorne Research is a trustworthy brand, as is Jarrow.

Basically, if you already have a taste for V-8 or Cranberry Juice, or some other breakfast juice base for a shake, then use Jarrow Brown Rice Protein Vanilla. If you are starting down the nutrition path now, go with the Thorne Research shake.

The Growing Naturals Rice Protein- Chocolate Power Flavor is very good to taste and mix ... but costs slightly more. $18-20 16.8 oz
Nutribiotic Rice Protein, Is a bit tricky to mix, too ... but it is not a gummy mix.
For me, this ranks above Jarrow Brown Rice Protein but not above Growing Naturals- Chocolate Power Flavor. $16

This is exactly what I needed. A protein powder that is dairy, gluten, and soy free as well as organic. It's low in carbs, sugar, and calories. I read other reviews saying it is gritty or hard to blend but I have had no problems. I like the taste and I usually make a shake with almond milk and a banana. I put all of it in the blender and it comes out well mixed and delicious. A healthy way to add protein to your diet and help you lose weight. I am very grateful I found this product and will definitely purchase again!

Since J Robb discontinued rice protein, I searched for a rice protein that approached the delicious taste of theirs. This turned into a search for a product that does not taste extremely rancid, like powdered plastics, or that a pea-sized amount of it is enough to ruin a quart-sized shake. Finally I found this one. It is not as good as J Robb, but it is not bad. It is the only rice protein I've found so far that I would buy again. Considering the competition, however, that is probably not saying much.

As for the taste of it, it is somewhat bland since it is unflavoured and unsweetened. For me that is a plus, since I prefer, for a number of reasons, to sweeten and flavour on my own. It has a slight and pleasant rice-like smell and taste (compared to other rice proteins I've tried that have a distinctly plastic reek!). Rice protein is naturally a bit grainy, so if you have never had it before, expect that. Lastly, rice protein is generally overpriced, but this one seems pretty good quality and the fact that it doesn't taste bad and I was actually able to consume the whole jar makes it fairly worth the money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Prop 65 warning : Could you put it on the description?
Reviewed in India on May 31, 2017
I do not want to rate the product as I haven't used it. I am more concerned about the prop 65 warning that it holds on the label. One cannot see this warning anywhere on the Amazon product description but is clearly stated on the product label which you can see once you order it. Prop 65 warning states that this product could contain chemicals which could lead to birth defects or cause other reproductive harm. I think the description link should clearly state this warning.
