Description

Play the most-funded game in Kickstarter history anywhere with the Exploding Kittens® Official mobile game!

The mobile version of the game is available now, including the Party Pack, Betrayal, Streaking Kittens, and the all new Barking Kittens expansion! Play with friends or strangers in online play, challenge the AI, or play offline with friends face-to-face!

In this highly-strategic, kitty-powered version of Russian Roulette, players draw cards until someone draws an Exploding Kitten, at which point they explode, they are dead, and they are out of the game -- unless that player has a Defuse card, which can defuse the Kitten using things like laser pointers, belly rubs, and catnip sandwiches. All of the other cards in the deck are used to move, mitigate, or avoid the Exploding Kittens.

Editors’ Notes

Switch on the laser pointer! Scoop the litter! Rub the belly of the all-seeing Pig-a-Corn! This mobile version of the insanely irreverent card game brings the fatal felines to our devices, along with a few purr-fect new twists. The hysterical illustrations by Matthew Inman (creator of The Oatmeal) spring to life with animation and sound—and a meter that tracks the chance of drawing an exploding kitten makes the game even more hilariously tense. Played face-to-face with friends or online against strangers, it’s surprisingly strategic and cat-astrophically fun.

Amazing app

I love this app. It is just as good as the physical card game, and that is really saying something. I have purchased the party pack and betrayal pack in the game and they both make really fun additions to the game. I also really like the extra cards they added to the core deck. There are just a few things I would change. First, the app doesn’t have “Nope” cards, and they are some of my favourite cards. Also, having the Imploding Kittens expansion pack I the game would be great. It has the second expansion in it, Streaking Kittens, but it doesn’t have Imploding Kittens. And one of the icons is a corn dog middle fingering, and the app says 9+. Other than those things, I would totally recommend this app, and if you buy it I hope you enjoy it.

Bugs need sorting and gameplay mechanics need improving

This game has always been a bit temperamental when trying to play online. Often it will crash out at the start. However, recently it seems as though a host of new bugs have been introduced. A couple of examples. I’ve had cards getting stuck at the bottom of the screen and its not possible to play them; also, quite often im unable to take my turn and forced to quit. These bugs really need ironing out. As the title says, there is also the issue of the gameplay itself. This is a fun game to play when first starting out, but after playing for a while with the latest expansion, its becomes apparent how broken some of the mechanics are. The key problem is that if you have one bit of bad luck at the start of a game, your chances of being able to win are massively reduced. There needs to be a way of better allowing players to get back into the game instead of rage quitting. The “blind” card in particular really needs a rethink. Combined with “steal” cards, it ruins the start of games. Its too easy to smack the blind card on someone and steal a card, and then the next 3 players all steal cards too. There is no real way to become competitive again and 50% of the time people rage quit.
