Blending Mats FREEBIE
Do you have students in your classroom that struggle with spelling and blending CVC and CCVC words? This forever freebie bending mat will help those struggling learners master their blending and word building skills and is perfect for any ESL/ELL classroom!
Directions:
-Print and laminate the word mats. Both color and blackline versions are included. Print the blacklines on neon colored paper to make it extra fun (and organized)! Don't have a laminator? No worries, just slip this mat into a plastic sheet protector and voilà!
-Have students spell CVC or CCVC words using magnetic letters, foam letters, alphabet pasta, or any letter manipulatives your teacher heart desires!
-Students will then verbally blend the word then write the word on the writing line.
-To differentiate: have students write a sentence for the word you give them, instead of writing the word on the writing line.
-Perfect for a literacy center, small group, or RTI activity.
