- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2015C'est magnifique! This book is a must-have for anyone who loves Paris, anyone going to Paris and/or anyone who wants to bring Paris home with them. It's a veritable treasure trove of inside picks and hidden gems that makes the reader want to buy a ticket to Paris tout de suite. The book is divided into different sections by types of Parisians - which is both clever and fun. This is definitely not your typical Paris travel guide. Niles clearly spent a lot of time hob-knobbing with locals, luminaries and insiders in order to amass this impressive and beautiful resource. I want to go to Paris before the rest of the world discovers this book!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2015Angie "GOT IT"! I am planning a Paris trip for three of us in November/15, a birthday present from my husband, and EVERYTHING in this book is what I want to do, and where I want to be with my two friends. We love fashion, beauty, art, architecture, and food, where else but Paris has all this, unlike any other place in the world! This book captures all of "must do's" and more. Having worked on this trip for 5 months now, I added a third more to our list in the two days I have owned this book. Angie's love, warmth, sophistication and soul flows through the pages making you feel like you are there. When you read her book, you will plan a trip, whether you have a ticket or not! I fell in love with all her secret shared out of the way places. Well done Angie, well done!........................ Thank You! Kathleen, Arline, and Gabi
- Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2016I enjoyed this different format. It s like short magazine articles. Some tour books have so very much info. This told highlights and the locations by arondisements. Very helpful.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2015What a great book! It is like talking to a foodie girlfriend (and looking through her incredibly artistic Instagram feed) who has great fashion taste and has lived in Paris for a long time. You will get the info on all the cool places to see and all the great restaurants to visit. The concept of describing the kind of woman that would live in each of the main Paris neighborhoods and where she'd shop and dine is so fresh and innovative. You pick the type that you most closely associate with and then pick your Paris trip focus - brilliant! Having perused a crazy amount of guidebooks, this one is by far the best I have seen on Paris.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2019Always looking for a different kind of travel book and this is the first I have absolutely loved. I loved this author’s writing style and the setup of the book by arrondisement. I got a ton of new ideas for my trip in the fall. My trips are heavy on food and shopping and this was great for that. Even though it’s a few years old, most recommendations were still in business. I read it all the way through and it made me even more excited to go to Paris. If you’re looking for a typical sights, museums, transportation guide book this is not it.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2016I bought this book to do some initial research before my first trip to Paris, and brought it with me to refer to during my stay. Since it was my first trip I spent most of my time doing typical tourist things, but I did look for restaurant recommendations and ideas for off the beaten path. All of the suggestions I tried were perfect. This was a great guide and I'm going to use it if or when I return to Paris. The style advice for each neighborhood was helpful and accurate, too.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2015Just received this book and what a dream! I've been to Paris 3 times now and am going back very soon solely because this book is an absolute inspiration. Highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Paris, wanting to live the Parisian life, or even if you want to read a great book w/ exquisite pictures. I'm definitely buying a few more copies for friends and family! Can't wait to read Angie's follow up books to this!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2021I was late to the game to get this book. I don't know if they aren't printing new ones or not...in other book stores they are not available. I know this came out in 2016 I think. I have been stalking amazon...waiting to see if a reliable supplier would sell a new one for a decent price. Finally the other day one came up that shipped from amazon as well that could get to me in 2 days...and there was one more left and I bought it right away. So I feel quite lucky to get my hands on this. This book was quite celebrity endorsed...especially by blake lively she mentioned it recently on her Instagram and that's how I found out about it. It appealed to me because I always wanted to go to Paris and this seemed like the type of book to get to find out about the fun things to do there. I was a bit hesitant about it though because it does seem to be written all in a cliché and like some reviewers said it is a bit cheesy. Even though I have yet to read it I am sure it is simply written and especially for us American readers who don't know tons about paris...but that's ok. The book itself is in very small dimensions. But its still a decent thickness. I am not such a fan of the matt thin paper used for the pages. I love high quality glossy paper and pictures for my books. But its not that type of stunning coffee table book. Its a fun little book that is packed full information even though it does have loads of pictures and cute illustrations. Maybe I would give it more stars once I read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars
