The oven and microwave doors open and close, and the dials to the stove turn. So far they seem sturdy, but we have only had this for 1 month.

i bought this item 3 weeks ago and the website says that this has sound effects and lights and sounds i don't see them on my son toy

thats what it says and i bought it for my daughters 2nd birthday and mine doesnt make sounds either and has no places for batteries so I dont know why it says it makes sounds

This particular one doesn't, it is another one that has the sound effects that is a few dollars more. It shows up under "people who bought this"...It isn't wrongly specified this one does not specify sound effects. I thought the same thing at first but then realized I had bought the one without.

The only sounds are a ratchet sound when you turn the burner dials or the oven dials. There are no lights and it doesn't take batteries. The manufacturer's box labeling makes no mention of lights or sounds so I'd have to blame the store's web page. That said - it's been a great hit with my two toddler granddaughters and I'm actually quite impressed by the construction design and amount of accessories.
