Purple and Pink seem to be the only 2 colors that contain red 40 in it

I have no way of knowing as it doesn't say on the package. It does say that if you have questions, call 1-800-632-5847.

Red 40 is in the purple and pink. It is not in blue or green.

I have never tried dying pasta, but I don't know why it wouldn't work because it dyes all food.....

Has anyone successfully dyed pasta with it?

I was excited to receive the McCormick Specialty Extracts Neon! Assorted Food Colors and Egg Dye. I have been experimenting with ways to make different colors with my regular food colors in hopes of making some more vibrant and cool colors.

I love the new Neon Food Colors. The Colors included include purple, green, pink and blue. Which have been very helpful in making spring time desserts with spring time colors. I also like on the side of the box it tells you how to make other colors, Green Apple, Apricot, Turqoise, and Raspberry. They tell you how many drops of each color you need to make these colors not only in white icing, but also in white cake mix and for egg dying. I only wish they had more color combinations or a link to a website where you could find more color combinations.

I wish the McCormick regular food coloring colors came with instructions on how to make other color combinations too. Another thing I would love to see is a larger box with both the regular colors and the neon colors together. And also like to see the colors sold individually. That could add to another line of more colors that you could purchase separately.

Overall we love the McCormick Specialty Extracts Neon! Assorted Food Coors and Egg Dye. My daughter and I have had fun experimenting with the new colors and the color combinations. Wonderful product.

Awesome Neon colors

Very bright colors. Love making bright frosting. You could not taste the food color. Brightest food coloring I have ever used. Reminded me of egg dye which you can also use for egg dye. Made beautiful cupcakes. Brighter than normal food colors. McCormick is the best brand for food colors. Color stayed.

McCormick Specialty Extracts Neon food colors are the greatest! I have enclosed a picture so you could see what vibrate colors you can make for your cake frosting with only 2 drops of color! They are beautiful colors and you can make them as light as you want or as dark as you want. You can also mix colors to have an entirely different color. They are always so bold and rich. Can't wait to use them on the Easter eggs next year! The small amount you use makes the bottles last a lot longer.

Very Best Food Color

Okay so I didn't buy the food coloring for the traditional purpose to color icing or eggs. I bought it to put in my hair for the bright vibrant colors. It really turned out just how I wanted. Nice temporary pink streaks. I've already tried the blue as well.

I am using this to color my bath salts that I make for friends and family,even with the white salts it really doesn't show up as "neon" but it does give them a really pretty color.I am happy with the results.

McCormick Specialty Extracts Neon! Assorted Food C

I'm what is commonly called a "Pen Turner". I make all sorts of pens in different styles out of exotic woods. This is one of the best dying sets that I've found for dying wood. The colors come out vibrant and very eye catching. Especially when used on the lightly colored Quilted Maple and Curly Maple woods.
I don't know how well it will work with eggs or food but it's fantastic on wood!

Works great on woods!

I am very happy with these colors, they are nice and bold, and it does not take that many drops to get the color you want. I also like that on the package it gives you a secondary color guide on how to create a different set of colors: green apple, apricot, turqoise, and raspberry. The only draw back for me is in the actual bottles that hold the color, the top does not screw on tight, it simply pops on, so when you are taking the top on and off it can be a bit messy, however the clean up is easy, you just need a little soap and water. Overall this is a good quality product, and I will definitely continue to use it.

Nice Bold Colors

I am not big on baking but something different for the grand kids is always fun. These new neon colors are great. Colors are vibrant and can adjust darkness by how many drops you add. Just a couple drops goes along way. Colors are purple, green, pink and blue as they come in the box. Also a guide on the box to make additional colors. Sure with a little more imagination lots more can be created besides the few on the box. These will be great addition to the holidays and Easter Egg time.
One thing to mention is straight out of the bottle the colors do stain. Got some on my skin and nail and will have to see how long it takes to wear off as it does not wash off. So be careful not to spill this on anything! Once mixed in frosting, batter etc its no longer a problem.

Neon Food coloring

McCormick's Neon Food Color and Egg Dye is not quite neon. The blue is great. Neon and electric. Pink is next best. It comes out beautifully dark. Purple wouldn't get dark enough even though I left it in the dye for a long time. It is still a pretty color. Just not neon. The green was a flop. I left the egg in the dye a longer time than all the others, yet it would not darken at all. I ended up taking it out and putting it in a mixture of pink and purple. Pretty but not neon. The box had very good instructions, which I followed in making the dye for the eggs. It also has instructions for making additional colors. Good packaging. All in all I enjoyed using the product for dying eggs and will probably use it for next Easter. Though it didn't really stack up to its packaging labels, it was still a good product and I'd buy it again.
