Its good for the price - Use a lanyard to keep the phone anchered just in case.
I ordered this to help me navigate through city and to keep my phone at a secure place while i ride about. I really liked the design but I'm afraid the built quality is not great. I have not used it long enough for it fail yet but it does shake a little when riding fast and that really makes me nervous. I would advice you to keep your phone strapped via lanyard to your bike frame or handle just in case this holder decides to quit on you. It would be the only way to assure your phone's safety to be very frank. Other issue I have with this is the location of the clip, I use a oneplus 1 and a nexus 5x mostly and they both have buttons on the side that the clips align with directly. so to avoid the button pressing the phone no longer stays in the middle of this holder. The rubber provided does a great job though. I feel the rubber provided with this holder is the only great quality material here and the rest plastic is OK quality which would probably go bad if you are leaving your bike out in heat. I try to keep my bike indoors and spoil it anyway. I received this product with a little discount from the seller in order to review it in an unbiased and truthful manner. I hope this review helps you

I have used this for a about a week now and must say I am quite happy with it. Those of you reading the reviews should be careful though, as I can see and understand how others are not happy with this item for their needs.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II which is a rather large phone. So large in fact it that you could say it maxes out this phone holder - but that is why it holds it in place very well. I can see how some of the smaller phones might fall out.

I got this holder for two reasons: to attach to a baby stroller and for a bicycle. Would I put this on the motorcycle? Not yet, although my confidence in it is building that it might hold the phone safely for a trip.

It comes with two rubber mounts that go inside the plastic clamping mechanism. At first I was unhappy that they easily fell out/off due to not being adhered with glue or otherwise. But this actually was good for me as with the rubber mounts it wouldn't attach to the stroller. I took the rubber mounts off and it fit beautifully. I put one of the rubber mounts back on to attach it to the car parking break, and FYI it also fit on the shifter without rubber mounts.

So it is versatile and if you have multiple needs like me, then this might be the way to go for you. There's another holder that has two bungee cords holding it down and a stop at the bottom. I chose this over that model because 1) I need full access to the screen without anything in the way, 2) if they're going to add a stop to the bottom of the unit, they should have added one to the top (which is meant to help keep the phone from slipping down and out of the holder).

There are a few better holders, but they are equally more expensive for the amount of security you get - and even in their reviews, they fail for some people.

The ability to see my HR real-time made a huge difference for my training. I was really happy with this for several months.

Some problems I had with this:
One day I had to ride over some bumpy road with a fast speed (not the first time). This time was apparently too much for the grip and my SIII phone got disengaged and all its moving parts (cover, battery, back-shield) flew to different places. Fortunately the phone continued to work after this (kudos to Samsung).

This made me narrow down the scope of using the mount to just finely paved roads and for climbing only.

After some time the neck (head/body screw) got weaker and the mount could not keep the phone steady, so even on a finely paved road it would not keep the phone position steady and I had to fix it many times during the rides. When I had enough of it, I entirely unscrew it and screwed it back very firmly.

It was OK for some time, until one day when I was again riding over a rough road the product got broken at the neck and again my phone went flying. The phone was OK again (and again, kudos to samsung), but the product was not. Apparently I screwed the neck too tightly so that it did not have any freedom at all to absorb the bumps.

I am going to buy another one and strictly follow these rules:
    1. Never use the phone on it while:
    a) descending/high speeds
    b) riding on rough roads
    2. Screw the neck tight enough for the phone not to lose its position, but not tighter.

Bottom line is - this is a fine product to use on ascends, which is the only portion in my ride that I truly need to look at my HR anyway. 4 stars, yes, I like it.

I hope this is useful for people who are considering to buy this.

I've been using this for about a month and I love it. This is the second one I have owned, as the last one got sold with the last bike I had.

It looks really cool on the bike even without the phone in it. Its pretty slim and not bulky and silly looking like some other mounts. Mine is attached to an on road off road adventure bike, and has survived several drops of the bike with zero damage to the mount or the phone. I can pop it in or out of the mount with one hand while wearing motorcycle gloves, so it is easy to take a phone call or look something up while balancing my big heavy bike with the other hand so I don't have to put the kickstand down every time.

I also use the phone as my GPS on long rides and there is very little vibration. Being able to look at the GPS without getting a headache from a vibrating image is a huge advantage. I have fit both a standard iPhone 7, and a huge iPhone 6S plus in it with no problems so it is quite versatile.

So many reviews on this product and many of them good for install on a motorcycle. I figured why not and will try.

Not good for me on my Ducati. I am amazed of all the positive reviews for a motorcycle. The ball that holds the phone dock isn't strong enough to hold up into place riding over the bumps so phone slowly starts to tip down and makes you have to constantly adjust. Annoying and dangerous when you are riding. I tightened it up ferociously too. Didn't matter. So I oriented that the neck was positioned so that phone mount was at its lowest point where it then couldn't tip down anymore. So problem solved but other issue which developed which was worse is that phone vibrated too much because was absorbing all the bikes reving and riding conditions. Making the phone screen very difficult to read plus stability issues for phone to pop off. Again causing a dangerous situation distracting you from watching the road. Phone however did stay on pretty securely given the circumstances. It never popped off the mount on me.

I have given up on it hwever and decided to go with very reputable and quality RAM Mount products for motorcycles. Not worth trying to save the few extra dollars and put your safety at risk and possibly even end up breaking your phone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Für Outdoorsport geeignet Top Fahrradhalterung auch für extreme Sachen.
Reviewed in Germany on November 26, 2016

5.0 out of 5 stars Holds the phone firmly with and without the waterproof case.
Reviewed in Canada on June 11, 2015
Works very well and solved a dilemma. I have another mounting system for a waterproof case. One would think that would be sufficient, however the waterproof case causes glare on the screen which makes it impossible to view in very sunny conditions. Secondly, the waterproof case tends to cause the phone to overheat during hot days, causing the screen to dim (iPhone 4s). Fortunately I can get the best of both worlds. When the weather is good, I roll without the case. The phone doesn't overheat and the glare is minimal. On wet days I mount it in the case but thanks to the relatively accommodating width of the this handlebar mounting system, I can hold the phone with this case on. It's perfect. I've since removed the mounting hardware of the waterproof case from my handlebar and just roll with this. Great solution.
