Games of volleyball and horseshoes, cookouts of grilled steak and housemade cobbler—it’s all a horse-drawn wagon ride away at Gold City Corral & Carriage Co. Each chuck wagon dinner package begins with a scenic ride to the River House, where family-friendly games and BYOB feasts await.
The wagon rides are one among many horse-drawn outings at Gold City, nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains’ foothills at Forrest Hills Mountain Resort where riders can also stay. Horseback rides whisk participants of all skill levels along guided trails, and can even include time beforehand for brushing and gossiping with the steed. Other jaunts include hayrides, as well as carriage rides along back roads or straight to the altar of your wedding if it’s held at the resort.
