Best dairy free yogurt alternative!

Best dairy free yogurt alternative!
So Delicious Coconutmilk is my go-to when it comes to dairy free yogurt alternatives. Although I still enjoy dairy and enjoy regular yogurt, I try to limit my dairy intake and this is a great substitute. I really like that this yogurt alternative uses organic coconut milk and it has minimal extra fillers, along with skipping any flavors (because even the `natural` ones are not so natural) and the sweeteners. The consistency is pretty similar to a regular plain yogurt, once you open the container you even get some liquid separation (similar to whey) and it's better to stir before eating. It's not as creamy as a Greek yogurt, but slightly more thick than a runny plain yogurt. There's not too much taste/flavor to the So Delicious Coconutmilk, maybe just a mild hint of coconut, which I actually don't mind; but it does have a slightly acidic vibe similar to cultured yogurt. I tried other dairy free yogurt alternatives and I disliked their earthy taste. Since it's unsweetened, it can be used for both savory and sweet dishes. I actually made coconut buns with this (I simply mixed yogurt with flour and steamed them) and I like to serve it instead of yogurt in spicy lentil dishes. Otherwise, I serve it with fruit, mix it into oatmeal, enjoy it plain; I like to add my own Stevia or Monk fruit sweetener to make it a sweet treat. But I do find that powders don't incorporate easily in this product, if I try to mix in cacao powder or powdered peanut butter I have to mix a lot and still they don't fully absorb.

Finding any yogurt without sugar is nearly impossible; and non dairy is usually runny and super sweet. This one is not sweetened, high in protein, and a nice texture. Has little flavor, not a bad taste, just not much taste at all. This is fine with me, since I mix it with fruit and grain free granola.

This is my go-to for baking, blending in smoothies, and making dips that are dairy-free…makes a really good alternative to sour cream. If you were to eat as a yogurt - make sure to mix well with a sweetener/granola/fruit/etc. I prefer not to eat the unsweetened version on its own, as I wish it had a more coconut milk taste to it…

I like that it's unsweetened, but the texture is very runny and clumpy and the taste is pretty sour. It's okay for mixing with cereal but there is also an awful lot of saturated fat in it. I prefer the kite hill plain for general yogurt usage, or harmless harvest if I want coconut.

This is my favorite nondairy yogurt. The price is steep, but you get what you pay for in taste and quality. Always stocked in my fridge. I often add goodies/mix-ins like fruits, coconut flakes, nondairy chocolate chips, you name it,skies the limit. The consistency is perfect. I no longer miss my days of dairy yogurt. I don't even miss ice cream anymore. You can use as a starter for your own yogurt. I only eat the unsweetened, either plain or vanilla. The coconut fat is good for you as well, in moderation. I'm addicted :)
