I have straight short Asian lashes and most waterproof mascaras smudge on me after a few hours, or the curl drops, or doesn't lengthen or define my lashes well enough. This fibre waterproof mascara however stays put all day, never smudges even if I tear up, and lengthens and defines, as well as retain the curl in my lashes from my use of a Shu Uemura eyelash curler. Nothing else I've tried is as effective as this mascara. It's so longlasting that no makeup remover removes it as easily as its own brand of mascara remover, which I also have.

    I’ve been using this mascara for years, according to Amazon I’ve bought it 14 times so I thought it was finally time to write a review! Needless to say, it’s a brilliant mascara. I love that it gives a very natural look that you can build up, it never clumps, smudges, or flakes. The formula isn’t too wet so you don’t have to wait for it to dry down and it literally doesn’t budge, holds a curl perfectly. I only wish I could find the brown one. I recently bought an expensive brand in their brown formula and it just wasn’t half as good as this one. I live in fear of it being discontinued!

    Credit where credit is due, this is an amazing mascara. I litch bawled my eyes out the day I wore this and there wasn’t a smudge to be seen. If you’re looking for make up to use for sports or swimming, this is the one. However, it took me HOURS to get it off. Maybe I don’t have a the right materials to get it off, but it was so difficult to get it off, that I’m jst not gonna use it until I find a way to get it off easily. If anyone knows the best quickest way to get this off, PLEASE share…

    I have bought this mascara multiple times. It’s the only mascara I’ve ever used that doesn’t smudge. I repurchased it last week and it arrived in its usual intact packaging and… it’s utterly useless. Completely dried out tube, a few clotted lumps at the bottom. Unusable. I’m gutted as I can’t return it since it’s been opened. Then I noticed that almost one third (!!!) of reviewers for this item have had the exact same issue so buyer beware- this stock is clearly past its sell by date. It’s a shame Amazon don’t pull it until the seller rectifies or addresses the issue. A very expensive mistake that I won’t be making again.

    I recently rated another mascara as being best for East Asian lashes but actually I think this trumps it because it gives a much more natural and voluminous finish with no clumping. Also, unlike the other one I reviewed, it doesn't leave your lashes really hard after application, so much so that you can feel them when you blink. It's very waterproof and smudge proof, I went out for a run with this on and no black eyes and held the curl. It is hard to remove but just use an oil based remover. I use argan oil and works fine.

    I’ve ordered a few different mascaras over the last few months to try out

    This was my latest purchase

    I read so many great reviews of this Japanese mascara so although it’s much more expensive than my others I thought it worth a try

    I love most Japanese cosmetic things especially their oil cleansers (like Hada Labo & DHC oil cleansers etc)

    I honestly can’t see how this mascara is so highly rated. When you apply it it seems to apply absolutely no product to your lashes and does nothing. I tried applying more and more product but my lashes just didn’t really do anything much at all, maybe a little more definition and maybe a very little curl but not enough to make any real noticeable difference

    I left it on my lashes for the day and sure enough, as others have mentioned, it absolutely stays put with no smudging etc. ok so for that I’m giving 2 stars

    In the evening I used my normal Hado Labo oil cleanser to remove my makeup and this mascara and it was just about impossible to get this mascara off. I had to apply extra oil cleanser three times before I removed most of it but some still remained. I was going to make my eyes extremely red and sore if I carried on

    This was £18 when I purchased so it’s an expensive mistake and I honestly can’t recommend this mascara

    Of the other mascaras I’ve tried I can highly recommend these:

    Essence Lash Princess Sculpted Volume Mascara @ £5

    Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Sky High @ £8

    Après avoir testé de nombreux mascaras de toutes les marques possibles, j’ai enfin trouvé le bon ! Le résultat est bluffant sur cils asiatiques (courts et droits). Les cils sont très bien séparés et allongés, le mascara ne les alourdit pas du tout. Il se travaille facilement, et une seule couche suffit.

    J’utilise un recourbe cils avant application, le mascara tient la courbure jusqu’au lendemain (oui, j’ai testé la tenue sur 24h par curiosité). La tenue est vraiment incroyable et la mention waterproof porte bien son nom. Je me démaquille sous la douche au savon, et il n’a pas bougé.
    Je ne suis pas d’accord pour autant avec les commentaires disant qu’il est difficile à enlever. En attendant de recevoir le mascara remover de la même marque, j’ai utilisé une eau micellaire bi-phasée de grande surface et il est parti sans problème. Le mascara remover est très efficace aussi, mais finalement pas indispensable.

    En conclusion : ce mascara tient vraiment ses promesses. Les cils sont allongés, recourbés et la courbure tient toute la journée. Zéro bavure, zéro paquet, les cils sont et restent bien définis pour des heures et des heures.
