No, this iron does not have automatic shut-off.

Thank you for your inquiry, GBT. All current Black + Decker irons feature a 3-way automatic shut off. However, the auto shut off is more of a "standby mode." This feature varies from 30 seconds to an hour, depending on the model of the iron. Movement usually resets the iron to begin heating. The only way to truly turn the iron off is to unplug it from the outlet. The handle will remain warm, since the iron is still drawing current from the outlet.

Yes, this product can be filled up with tap water.

If your tap water has a high mineral content, you would be able to use bottled or spring water, provided the water is not distilled or reverse-osmosis. I was honestly shocked at how well this iron did for the price. I needed something to put vinyl on a T-shirt while I waited on my heat press to come in. This worked fabulously! I ended up making a few shirts with it. For the price, you absolutely can not beat it. Also, I loved the color! Not that that’s a huge selling point.

Budget-Friendly Iron Box: A Steaming Success!

I purchased this iron based on the fact it had the most positive reviews, and decided to give it a try myself. I absolutely love it and glad I made purchase. This iron get hot really quickly. The steam is phenomenal. It presses my clothes professionally. I also love the creases it made in my uniform shirt sleeves. All of those wrinkles in my jeans are ironed out. The adjustable steam dial is great too, and helps to identify my clothing types to give it the right amount of steam to iron out those stubborn wrinkles. The spout at the top is large enough to pour water into the green, transparent, steam reservoir.  I under estimated this iron, but it’s a real steam engine in getting my entire wardrobe looking like it came from the cleaners. Thanks!

Awesome mighty steamer!

I bought this after seeing various reviews on Youtube and trust me Black decker won't disappoint you. Its not that compact as I though it would turm out to be. Operation is really easy. Advisable that use water under Max limited, you wont need this much water for sure. The spray works great as desirable, no extra water or spillage of any kind. Best Iron within budget. I tried this on jeans and couldn't expect more than what it did in removing all the creases and softening the jeans. Heats up real quick, works wonders in all temp. settings.

I purchased this iron before.  This one was defective however I will buy it again.  I cannot beat the price and the first one steamed

The Black and Decker Easy Steam Compact Iron was delivered with water inside.  It also had steam water marks on the metal side of the iron. You can see that someone else used it. The website did not label the item as a used product.

The iron works fine, but within 6 months of use all of the numbers rubbed off, rendering it useless because you cannot tell what temperature you are setting it to. I attempted ti submit a warranty claim, but the shipping cost required to replace it (that I am required to pay) is almost the price I originally bought it for.

It was delivered on time. But it was broken. It has a cracked on the handle. The box doesn't have enough support, it was just in a thin bag. No cushioning at all
