We purchased this TV, after deciding that we weren't interested in having our "smart" TV built in. We have an Apple Smart TV, and can always consider upgrades to this (developing and fairly inexpensive) technology. Our Sony dvd player handles our streaming needs quite well; so, otherwise what we wanted was a quality TV with a beautiful picture, as well as enough inputs/outputs to give us flexibility with our needs.
This Toshiba (32L1350U) is truly a beautiful set - especially for the price! (I went ahead and took Amazon's credit card and received the $50 gift certificate - so that came off the price.) This TV has true stereo analog outputs (full size - not a single, mini-"headphone" jack, audio output), so you can easily go through a stereo receiver to quality speakers. Otherwise, 3 HDMI jacks (cable box, dvd player, etc.); as well as a PC port, and a USB, if you must use it as a computer monitor.
It has absolutely beautiful color definition, a small frame - so a maximum viewing area, and the built-in speakers are really quite good! We were happy that we could still get full analog stereo, output capability and all the features of a current HD television.

This set was a perfect fit for the stand that had a 27" older style HEAVY set. The only modification needed was to find a booster to bring the set up to perfect "eye level" when seated on our sectional sofa. The set was in perfect condition when recieved and assembly and set up were quite simple . The above description is in error as it is a 1080P set not 720P . It it hooked to our satellite system and delivers a splendid picture and very adequate sound for viewing most programming . This is not our primary movie viewing set anyway--mostly news and sports . I had been shopping TVs for some time and at this price you can't go wrong.

I bought this particular TV because I've had good luck with Toshiba products and the price was quite good. I've had it about four months now and am happy with it.

Setup was very easy. The screen isn't the highest resolution, but at this size -- I got the 32" version -- there isn't all that much difference between the 720p and 1080p, at least for me. The picture is lovely, with true colors and good contrast. The higher refresh rate makes sports and other action programming much more enjoyable than with the standard 60hz rate. The sound is decent (although you're always better off running audio through some decent external speakers). The picture looks good from a fairly sharp viewing angle. The unit is lightweight, which makes it easy to mount on a wall.

I would give the TV five stars were it not for the remote, which is flimsy and doesn't include the channel guide feature that our little off-brand kitchen TV remote has. That's annoying because we only use a digital antenna so we don't have a program listing channel as one does with cable or satellite providers. At some point we'll replace the remote with a universal one. Even with that gripe, though, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the TV so long as the price isn't much more than $200.

i went to the Toshiba website and it says in order to enable clearscan you must have you TV on Cinema mode. beacause "There are no seperate settings for clearscan"
i was reading an article where it said some tv's use fancy language to make people think they are 120 hertz, i think thats what "Clearscan" is for this TV. The TV has a refresh rate of 60 frames per second and there is no way to change it to 120 hertz. 120 Hertz clearscan must be something else. The I was playing Xbox one on this TV and the picture looked great. I just don't think it's 120 hertz refresh rate.

We bought two of these Toshiba 39-inch, 1080p, 120Hz, LED HDTVs as xbox 360 monitors to use with two system-linked (and on "xbox live") controllers. So far, they are working great! They replaced two older Sony 32-inch, 1080p, 120Hz, LCD TV monitors that we bought about six years ago (they were great too; unfortunately, the power supply card in one of the monitors died and could not be ecomonically repaired). The picture is bright and dynamic! The audio is more than adequate for gaming. Amazingly, given that the plastic border surrounding the screeen is so narrow, they two monitors, side-by-side, take up just about the same amount of wall space as the previous two Sony monitors. Lastly, the two Toshiba monitors combined cost less than one of the higher-end "gaming" Sony 32-inch LCD monitors I purchased six years ago.... You can't beat the price. The Toshiba's are a great bargain! 'Highly recommend.
