The DN-2 is a dynamic overdrive pedal that allows you to take your performance to new levels of intensity. Utilizing the Dyna Amp technology from the Roland CUBE-60 amp, this unique Boss pedal reacts based on picking dynamics in order to create a more unique tone. Whether you're seeking a powerful overdrive sound through heavy picking or a clean output from soft play, the DN-2 is a great addition to the Boss lineup.

I'm new to guitar playin'/learning, but this pedal is a good start for effects equipment. It works just fine and is affordable guitar add-on. A great way to enter the effects pedal universe!
good concept but not quite there yet. The cube amps has great digital distortion that breaks up nicely. Was hoping this was the same thing but it cant handle normal playing and it cuts out when the volume knob is lower. Playing it cranked does give you a solid drive sound, betterthan ds-1.
I bought one of these used for 35 dollars, and I have been very pleased with it. It gives you a nice blend between the super overdrive and the ds1. Best of all, the dynamic function allows you to have some extra control and touch when the pedal is on. Getting your sound is super easy with the boss three knob feature. For some reason, I have always found that boss pedals with four knobs are so much less intuitive. I think it sounds Marshally if I were to give it a character. Run this into a booster and the overtones and drive really brighten and cut through a mix. During practice, the only adjustments I made was to add a little drive to about 1 oclock. You won't have to fiddle too much with this pedal. I think they discontinued this pedal because it doesn't do too much different than other pedals in their line. Grab one if you see it.
Usually I associate Boss overdrive/distortion with thin digital harshness with no mid range or bass response. Not so with the DynaDrive. With only one tone knob this pedal is deceiving but all the tones from the creamy overdrive of Clapton's Sunshine of Your Love, Eric Johnson's Cliffs of Dover, Led Zepplin's HeartBreaker, or AC/DC's Back In Black, it's all in there. Even works as a clean boost and for more subtle barely there overdrive tones. The pedal functions just like a tube amp with a natural tube breakup response from hard and soft picking. I also own a Tech 21 SansAmp GT2 and a T Rex Tonebug overdrive. The DynaDrive sounds better and is cheaper than both. I was suspicious this pedal could hold its own because the sounds are pulled from Roland solid state amps. No worries, this pedal is overlooked, underestimated and bound to be a classic.
5 star for the product! If a person can get a brand new Dyna Drive, it's a very good product with some uniqueness. But, 0 star for Raj Musicals! They've sent a used product (though in original packaging with all the stuff inside) but it's a used pedal. There are scratches and the paint is chipping from one side. All the knobs are dirty and there's quite a bit of dirt stuck underneath every knob. Very bad service from Raj Musicals, will never buy anything from them.
