I've had a couple pair of Mechanix gloves over the years and have never been dissatisfied with them, even after wearing them out to the point of replacement. The leather palm and fingers offer excellent grip while remaining fairly impermeable to oils, grease, etc. The nylon/spandex back form-fits to the hand for a snug, flexible fit and allows your hands to breathe. It's also durable enough to resist abrasion and minor heat. I briefly touched a hot exhaust manifold while wearing them and there was no visible damage.
The woodland camo pattern is fairly similar to the military's old M81 woodland pattern. It makes no difference to the effectiveness of the glove, but it looks neat. The gloves shown here have a black palm whereas the current gloves on Mechanix's website show a brown palm, so it's possible these are old stock or the picture simply needs to be changed. Most buyer's probably wont care either way, but it's worth noting.
The velcro closure is an interesting variant of hook-and-loop which is more... slick, I guess is the word. It's not fuzzy like typical velcro, which is good because it's less likely to trap debris which would render the velcro non-functional. There is also a spot on the strap to mark a name, initials, ID number, etc. to identify the gloves owner/purpose.
Overall these are well-made gloves that are well-suited to auto/machine-shop work, police/security duty, or even simply gardening. They're just a good all-purpose glove.
