- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2012This melt and pour soap kit is great for the price. You get two molds, one has a variety of massage bars and one has geometric shapes. You get enough soap to make 12 bars depending on the shapes you choose (some are larger). The clear glycerin soap base is fresh and easy to cut into small pieces with a kitchen knife to melt in your microwave. The colors are very pretty. I did not care for the Lavender scent that comes with the kit, however the Cucumber Melon is very nice. I used some fragrance oils I have at home and the soaps came out smelling great. It's fun and easy to do.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2011As I am prone to dropping things and walking into walls (just kidding - sorta) I opted to try soap making with a melt and pour kit. The lye bit for regular soap is a little intimidating, but I will get a book and study up on it and down the way will probably try it. This kit is neatly packed, has all the pieces you need to get started and is a lot of fun. The massage molds are nice, I tried out a bar last night and it does feel great.
The only improvement to the kit would be a little better instruction book, perhaps with a few "recipes". I found plenty on the internet, but a small booklet would improve the kit.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2014Just tried making these soaps. The contents of the package were exactly as stated, and actually making the soaps was simple enough. I melted the glycerine in my crockpot, added the ingredients and poured into the molds. The purple coloring agent didn't last, the bars turned clear again within a couple of days. The fragrances were nice and the molds were ok. One of them was cracked though, so I was dripping liquid soap all over the place as I moved the molds for drying. That cracked mold made an uneven bar of soap as some of it leaked out while curing. Overall, it was very simple to do, and I was pleased with my first attempt at soapmaking. I don't think this is the kind of soap I want to make though. Glycerine is supposed to be very gentle to the skin, and this came with shea butter, which is also supposed to be good, but I find it very drying, and makes my skin feel tight. This would be a nice kit for young kids to try to make their own soap, but not for serious soapmakers.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2013This kit is great! So easy - I made six bars the day I received it.
I don't care much for the lavender scented oil - it smells a little too
medicinal rather than relaxing. The little jar of cocoa butter is great.
I used coconut oil in the soaps and they smell awesome and so does
much kitchen. Melting in the microwave was easy it only took 30
seconds to melt what I needed - my microwave is only 900 watts and
it was perfect. The soap molds were very diversified and no problem
getting the soaps out.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2017At first glance it seemed like a good kit, however the mold was extremely cheap. It bent on the first batch and cracked and tore on the second. I was as gentle as possible but its plastic like a disposable plastic cup. I just had to order more molds in order to finish with the kit. The rest of the kit seems ok. I do not recommend this because of the molds.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2012We bought the kit to make "tie dye" style soaps at my 11yo son's birthday party. (I also separately bought white gylcerin soap for that project as the tie dye effect works better with white soap.) The kit worked fine for that purpose. The kids had fun making and coloring their soaps. We didn't use the fragrance or cocoa butter but saved that to use at another time.
The kit is correctly described, but the image shows different shaped molds than the ones that are included. The customer image shows the correct contents of the kit. It's a shame because I didn't read carefully and was expecting the star and moon etc. shapes that I think the kids would have enjoyed more. But the didn't know what they were missing and were fine with what we had. (I also use the bottoms of water bottles to make round "flower-like" soaps.)
- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2016This is a really good kit to teach you how to make soap for the first time. It includes everything needed and also gives you options to change up the recipe for different skin types. This is very easy to use. I made my first batch of soap and it was ready within an hour. It is easy and fast. I got this as a gift and loved it. If you know someone who is crafty and enjoys making things, this would make an awesome gift. I also added my own essential oils in the soap, but the fragrances they came with were good also!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
Did not receive what was listed on the label, did not receive 1 lb of opaque and 1 lb of clear soap base, I received 2 lbs of clear, did not receive celestial soap mold, I received a massage bars mold, and the most disappointing part: for fragrance I did not receive peppermint oil, lemon oil and lime oil, I received cucumber melon and lavender. Even though the 2 bottles of fragrance oil are bigger than the 3 listed on the box, it was not what I was expecting and they are two fragrances that I do not like. The only things from the label in the box that was correct were the geometric shapes mold, and the spring collection liquid soap colors in lilac, peach and seafoam.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for an afternoon of fun
It was easy to use. I bought it for my granddaughter 13 and she enjoyed making the soap with lots to give away for gifts!
