    This is an adorable owl necklace. It arrived much faster than they estimated. It looks exactly like the pictures online. The chain & owl are the nice vintage bronze they show & describe, so it shouldn't be expected to be shiny gold. It is well-built but not heavy around the neck at all, & I do not feel the owl is too big. The chain does not have a clasp but it is plenty large enough to easily get on & off over the head. The owl is affixed to its own ring at the bottom of the chain so it does not slide back & forth on the chain. The gems are bright, sturdily affixed in place, & not crooked at all. The color placement is also symmetrical on each side. The only thing I've seen vary is that, in some pics the eyes look royal blue & in others, they look teal. Mine came with beautiful bright teal eyes. I'm thinking maybe the gem colors vary sometimes, but I've only bought one so I don't know. The other gems are bright purple, yellow, & pink. This necklace is definitely worth getting for the low price. If you like what it looks like on Amazon, I don't think you'll be disappointed when it arrives.

    I ordered the Owl Pendant as a small birthday gift for my friend, keeping in mind that it is shipping from quite a distance and you have to allow for plenty of shipping time; it took 3 weeks from Hong Kong to Connecticut .. .. .. .. but can take longer.

    It is an inexpensive piece, and will not match up to fine jewelry, but is adorable and certainly a value for the price! The chain for the pendant does not have a clasp, it simply slips over your head.

    I purchased it specifically for my friend who adores owls; she loved it and had no trouble slipping the chain over her head.

    In my opinion, this was an A+ purchase :)

    I love the look of this necklace, and considering it's coming from China (or Singapore, as the return address on mine stated), it certainly isn't bad. I have two problems with this necklace:

    1. In the picture, they make it look like the chain is looped through that nice little loop, attaching it to the loop at the top of the necklace. This would be a fantastic idea, as that would make the necklace sit straight on your body and not want to turn sideways when you lean forward and the necklace comes away from your body. This is not the case! That chain has no clasp, so they attached the ends of the chain to that loop. Therefore, when you hold that chain up in the air to look at it, the owl is sideways. This of course means the cute little owl is always flipping over backward when you're wearing it. I always find that a bit annoying, but this is caused by a design flaw, not just a matter of gravity taking over when you lean forward because one side of the necklace is heavier than the other. They would have been better off leaving the loop off the necklace entirely and attaching the chain directly to the loop at the top of the owl so it would want to lay flat. This would have eliminated the whole problem.

    2. This necklace has no clasp. It must go over your head if you intend to wear it. I have a lot of hair, so this is a bit of a nuisance for me.

    That seems like a lot of griping for 3 stars, but I actually still quite like this necklace, and both of these things are quite easily fixed if you have a pair of pliers and are able to get hold of a clasp of some sort, either from a necklace you no longer wear or from a craft store. They're cheap if you need to buy one, so I'd recommend it if the over-the-head things annoys you, too. I still like the necklace and wear it, and I liked it enough to buy it for my sister since she added it to her wishlist. I will probably buy her an entirely new chain and abandon the one that comes with it, though, since she has sensitive skin and this necklace will probably tarnish on her and possibly even cause a reaction.

    All things considered, this is a great necklace for the price, and any issues are easily remedied. I'd still recommend it.

    I bought one of these and liked it so much, I bought another to give as a gift. I just realized it was from 2 different sellers, but the quality was the same. I think the second one took a little longer but I'm not sure. It takes a few weeks, since it ships from overseas, but that's clearly listed before and when you order. I didn't mind the wait, especially when the shipping is free, the cost is low, and the overall value is more than worth the wait. I thought these owls are really cute, and this one was my favorite of the ones I bought. I may even buy a couple more to give to other people. It works well with the kind of clothing I wear to work, but could work with a t-shirt also. I have had no problems with the stones being loose or coming off (as a couple other reviewers mentioned), but I've only worn it a few times. It would be worth it (and easy) to me to fix if that happened.

    Along with being both colorful and vintage (as mentioned in the description) this owl necklace is just so much fun! It is both a great deal for the price and a great conversation starter, as everyone is sure to notice and comment on it! No doubt your friends and family and co-workers will want one for themselves as well!

    Now I must admit, this piece is far different from what I usually tned to wear, but I made a New Year's resolution to buy something that was absolutely not my style and dare to wear it! Thanks to the variety of colors, it can be worn with many different outfits (and I can say that it looks especially nice with green!) True, the chain has no clasp, but it still goes on and off easily.
