Product Description

With the world as their playground, players will explore a vast expanse of mountains and valleys with unprecedented choices in direction never before seen in a Cabela's hunting game. Players can climb an area to get a better angle for the shot but risk being spotted, or they can take a low elevation route with poor visibility but plenty of concealment. Nature doesn't always wait for you to make the first move as the dynamic weather and natural hazards make the hunt even more challenging. The challenge doesn't end there. Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2012 ups the ante with the most realistic animals ever seen in the Cabela's series. Every animal's unique movement gives clues on what the animal will do next. In order to bag the trophies, players will have to avoid detection through cunning, skill, and deception. They must also utilize master hunting skills such as advanced stalking techniques so they can quickly move through cover and close in on their targets.

    I purchased this mainly for the gun and it worked for all of about 3 hours. My wife and I were taking turns with it and changing the position of the stock. Well after about the tenth time the latch stopped working and now I have tape holding the stock opened enough for an adult to use. Looks cool but cheaply made.

    I'm not much of a gamer but I love to hunt so I bought this for the off season. You can literally finish the entire game in one sitting!!

    In a nut shell, the game leads you around the forest to different shooting stands and you shoot the animal that it tells you to. It was fun but extremely simple and it is over before you know it.

    Unless this game is on sale for a great price, I wouldn't pull the trigger.

    The game has good graphics and the overall story line is good. To be honest though, the gun is extremely difficult to use. After countless attempts at calibration, and fiddling with the controller setup options (allowing to setup as standard controller, Wii gun, or another option/controller I have never seen) I finally settled on using the gun, but setting the option as Controller only (with no gun). The reason being, when the settings have you using the gun, it is WAY TOO sensitive. Ever millimeter of movement translates to 3-5 inch swings on the screen. When you set it to controller only, it slows everything down so that you can actually aim, and move without feeling nauseous. I still am experimenting with it, and overall am enjoying the game as it brings me back to my youth and the Nintendo Duck Hunt craze. Maybe some others are having better luck with the gun??? Just be warned that you may have to spend some time trying to work out what setup works best for you.

    If you have 3-4 hours and steady hands you may, may get to calibrate the gun. But I doubt it, what a waste of time and money.I have no idea how they could have released this to the public. I guess they were hoping people would not bother to return it and throw it away. It should be thrown away but I will count on Amazon to stand behind this junk and go to the trouble of returning it. Wow, what a loser
