    Being I'm a chef in training, I needed a perfect food scale and I think I finally found it!
    This is a great scale, really easy to use and just the perfect size. I was looking for a food scale that's small enough to store & take anywhere, but is big enough to weigh all my ingredients (and when your training your weighing all kinds of stuff in all different shapes n sizes!!) . I also like that you can go up to 11 pounds- nice.
    I also found this scale to be easy to use, it measures in grams, ounces, kilograms, and pounds - which is also very important. Has a big display, so when you're on the move its easy to read. Most of all the tare feature works great, I can put all my ingredients in my special utensils and get a accurate read on the just the ingredients.
    overall its very durable, I take it around with me and it seems to be holding up strong.
    I have recommended it to all my buddies - and they were happy I did.

    The build quality does seem a bit cheap, but it works great regardless. Just press the big grey button to turn the scale on/off or to zero the scale. Underneath on the bottom of the scale, there is a small button to change units into grams, kilograms, ounces, or pounds. For anyone wondering, batteries are included and the screen does have a low battery indicator.

    This scale is great for baking. I convert all my ingredients to grams, put a bowl on the scale, and start measuring each ingredient one-by-one by grams, resetting the scale to zero in between each ingredient (by pressing the grey "tare" button). Much simpler than measuring each ingredient with measuring cups or spoons.

    I really should have listened to the bad reviews. This scale flops between .5 oz every single time I use it. Since I'm a soap maker this CANNOT happen in the scale that I use. I need it to be exact every.single.time. Otherwise I would be fine, it's made ok, even though it's all plastic, seems sturdy enough. But, the weight is a guessing game and one that I cannot afford. Literally. I could be sued if any of my products are off by anything that leads to harming a customer.

    I use this scale to weigh foods I eat so I can log them on a diet-tracking website I use to help me with weight loss. It's also useful for measuring ingredients by weight, i.e. for a European baking recipe.

    While it's not really "lab-precise," the measurements it gives are fairly accurate with a small enough margin of error (as I've found) that it doesn't matter for most uses. However, after just a couple months of use, the on/off/tare button on the front (the only button on the front) works inconsistently. I often half to press it 3-4 times to get it to work. Also, having the "change units" button on the bottom is pretty irritating and I'm not sure why this design choice was made, as many other similar kitchen scales have the unit button right next to on/off/tare on the front, where it is easily accessible.

    Overall: looks fine, great price, simple operation, decent accuracy for the price, but also poorly made and seemingly breaking down after just a couple months of daily use.

    I really like this scale. It's small and compact. There's little waste in the original packaging so you can store it in the original box when not in use, which is easy to open. I bought it for use in soapmaking (haven't gotten around to that yet) but so far it has come in handy for weighing packages as well as with food preparation.

    I had a big tub of ricotta and a recipe called for 10 oz of ricotta, and I thought to myself "How much is 10 oz of ricotta? Half a cup? A whole cup?" I had no idea. Then I remembered I had this little nifty scale. And on top of that, this little nifty scale has a sweet tare feature and memory! So, I grab a bowl, place it on the scale, tare it, and then get out my tub of ricotta and scoop scoop scoop until I get 10 oz. Wooo!! Too bad my actual bread that I made with the ricotta wasn't that great. I should have put salt in it like the recipe called for, but I'm not used to using salt with anything so I instinctively ignored it in the recipe.

    Great deal on a great little scale. I highly recommend it, especially if you need something useful to pad your order to get free shipping. Everyone needs a little scale, and it can make a great gift. Unless it might be misinterpreted as a "You need to loose weight" gift, since this scale is targeted more for food prep (there's a little booklet on portion control or something in the box).
