Ultra-stable? Yes.

I am a die-hard Pure Blues player since they came out on the market. I still am and will always be. However, with 4 Basses, I wanted some variation in sound and function. I have not played a stainless steel string for many years, but put these on an American Jazz. I still say nickel is more my taste, but these do what DR claims- they are stable when you tune down. I got the 105 E string set and I can go down to C# without annoying rattling. You can change back and forth from E to E flat and they feel the same. I have a drop D tuner, I can use that to go to C# instantly without rattling or other strings going out of tune. They did not make it lower than that, I suppose if you got the 110 or 115 set you could. They are a lot stiffer than pure blues, which I'm sure contributes to the stability. But this is a real good thing for playing with a pick, which I'm forcing myself to do more. Just gotta get used to the sound, feel and stiffness of steel.
