Classic Style with a Modern Twist

The classic Portaflex cabinet is back with a modern twist. The Ampeg PF115HE Portaflex bass cab is modeled after the original B15, but has upgraded components. An Eminence 15" speaker and a defeatable 1" tweeter provide the big, bottom-end tone that Ampeg is known for. The top comes off so that you can attach any of the new Portaflex series bass heads to it in true flip-top style. Adding the head makes this a great all-in-one combo that protects the electronics between gigs. The big tone of the 15" speaker will fill the room gig after gig. Classic B-15 style tone

Using it with the PF-20T head. Classic Ampeg sound with a mic on it. It's the perfect amp for studio use.

Extremely reliable with nice tone

So i have at least 500 gigs on my cab. Still sounds great, no rattles. Two negatives: the casters broke off after about a year of use, they're puny and no good. Second, the matching portaflex head blew up after 18 months. Fan stopped working and unit melted down, no breaker. Had to replace head but cabinet is fine using other brands. I now use a Carvin 500w head and it sounds great.

Big Loud Bass Sound!

Coming from owning a couple Rumble amps, I knew this was going to be heavy. However, it's not as bad as you'd think for a solidly built wooden bass cab with a 15" speaker. Combined with the PF 500 head, this thing puts out monstrous bass tones and is suitable for medium to large gigs. The flip top feature is one I haven't used yet, but if I needed to it would be extremely helpful and I'm happy to have it.

Overall, the Ampeg 1 X 15 portaflex cabinet is a great product that will give you the loud and warm tones Ampeg is known for (it can be quiet too, but let's face it, you're playing bass!)

What a bass cabinet should sound like!

I was between getting an Ampeg 2x10 cabinet or this 1x15. When I tried this one out in the store I was sold immediately. Deep, clear, powerful sound, not muddy at all.

WOW! Very much surprised !

Got this mostly because of the size and convenience with amp built in. ( Have the PF-500 )
1st time played and it surprised me how good it sounded, how powerful it handled bass and all the tones. Most of all, how tight the sound was. Lots of control while playing. I feel I made a good choice with this cab. Now it has to get the Gig tests. I have not played it out yet but compared to my 15 Eden cab, I am sure this will be absolutely fine.
I recommend this to any bass player. You know, the old saying is that all the years playing, all the amps I used, I always seem to settle back in with an Ampeg system. I'm looking forward to this years gigs. We already have 2 per month from June to October. This will be the amp I will be using.
