Big Bass From a Small Package

At a svelte 25 lbs., no one can accuse Aguilar’s SL 112 bass cabinet of being overweight. Boasting a 12" cast-frame neodymium woofer, a phenolic tweeter, a custom crossover with variable high-frequency control, one Neutrik speakON plus two 1/4" inputs, and 250-watt power handling, this petite cab delivers solid bass and excellent midrange definition. Bassists at Sweetwater know for most club dates a big, heavy cab is overkill. But the SL 112 is ideal for easily handling monitor and backline duties in smaller venues. Need more power? Stack two of them with a Tone Hammer 500 for larger gigs.

The power and reduced weight of neodymium

The weight-saving properties and powerful midrange response of neodymium magnets give the SL 112 a full sound and the cab a reduced total weight (just 25 lbs.) at no cost in performance. The all-wood 12mm cabinet brings out the rumbling lows and tight mid-range punch of the driver, while the onboard phenolic tweeter with integral phase plug adds clarity, attack, and upper harmonics to your tone.

The brand chosen by touring bassists worldwide

Aguilar pickups, preamps, amplifiers, effects, and cabinets are created by bass players for bass players. Whether you play live or lay down at the studio, Aguilar Amplification products are designed to deliver the best bass performance possible. World-famous bassists like John Patitucci (Chick Corea), Adam Clayton (U2), and Paul Turner (Jamiroquai) have discovered the tone, power, and reliability of Aguilar products. Check out the SL 112 today and find out for yourself.

Great sounding cab and super light

Great sounding cabs. 12" speaker cone handles low bass well while maintaining clear mids and high end. Super light, great for gigging. One cab works well for low-medium volume settings or when you are running into a PA, but I use two of these cabs for louder gigs and practices.

Living Room Review

This morning I received and set up the Aguilar AG 700 along with this cabinet so I don't know where the credit for the sounds lies. Also consider that this is not in an actual playing situation and these are first impressions. This cabinet gives good weight to the low notes without using tone controls. I can't address how loud the cabinet will play. It seems to be pretty neutral. My Music Man Stingray sounds like I would expect and my Fender Precision Bass presents with the P-Bass tone in the lower mids that give the bass it's character. In this setting, changing the tone controls does not improve the sound as far as I can see. In an actual playing situation I am sure that this would be different. I guess the take away for me besides the neutrality is the improved low end presence without a loose mid bass.

Aguilar SL - 112 Bass cabinet

I added this cabinet to have a very light weight cab to use in quieter gigs, but still have great tone. This one works great, but I have to remember to not over drive it. I'm using it with my Aguilar AG-700 head. Sweetwater has given me great service for all my music needs for many years now. Greg Baum is my customer service man and is very helpful, many times going above what any other store would do, knows musical needs.

Aguilar one by 12‘s and Tone Hammer 700

I paired two One by 12 cabinets with the Tone Hammer 700 and I'm loving it. I play upright and it gives me a nice tight sound, but still warm.
Sweetwater was just great on price, knowledge of the product and delivery. No surprises.
Couldn't be happier!

the best

I'm an "old" bassist at 64 w/ back, hand, and shoulder arthritis so I gravitate toward a vintage sound but want I light gear that will fill the many gigs I play. I've owned everything, including mark-bass, ampeg, Gk, acoustic, and this is as good as it gets; volume, tone, projection are all present and it's so easy to haul and set up. I use 1 or 2 of these w/ the TH500 head. There's nothing I cant get out of this, it's not as loud as an svt but it's also nowhere near as heavy, and I don't play louder than this equipment will deliver anymore. The only thing I would change would be a clamping or magnet system for the head, it's only 4 lbs, but I just set it on the gig bag pads that came with it, and run the cable thru the speaker handles to avoid pulling it off the amp. I'd also like to add some rubber corners for vertical stacking. That's a personal choice changes I may or may not make. My final comment is what my blues band said the 1st time I plugged into it, and they are use to me always having quality gear; "wow! it's like you just took a wool blanket off your sound...that thing is unreal". I can't thank my sweet-water rep Chris Sanders enough for suggesting this rig. As my dad used to tell me "quality hurts once".
Music background: 50 years at the bottom ;-) live and studio 1st call bassist in my area
