From the Manufacturer

Homes need as much love as the people in them. With Citristrip, you can safely remove layers of yesteryear from your furniture, cabinets, doors, and other painted surfaces. And it smells pretty nice too. Paint remover needs to stay wet to work. Citristrip stays wet for 24 hours. So you can cover and strip an entire dining room set in one go. If it's too wintery to strip your furniture outside, or if your furniture is nailed down inside, Citristrip is safe for indoor use. That's because it's made without methylene chloride. Citristrip smells like oranges instead of eye-watering chemicals. And its orange color helps the stripper gel stand out on a surface, so you know where you've applied it.

It works--the only way to successfully strip louvered doors

It works--the only way to successfully strip louvered doors
Citristrip is a great non caustic stripper. I've stripped the moulding around my bedroom door and although a bit time consuming, it's more effective and a hundred times less dusty than sanding. The finished product came out great. No more multiple layers of paint or unsightly brush marks.Although it worked great on my moulding, I really didn't think about using it on my louvered folding doors from the kitchen and pantry. Had I known how much time I would commit to sanding and trying to get heavy paint brush marks, runs and other imperfections out between the slats, I would've used Citristrip at the very beginning. For anyone who has tried to sand louvered doors to perfection, it goes without saying that they are a pain. In reading up on what the professionals do, some don't even bother trying to strip them. They'll simply replace them, and then re-paint. That gives you some idea of how time consuming and involved it could get. These doors have about 4-5 coats of flat and oil based paint on them. Trying to feather the different paints to a smooth paintable surface left me with bubbled oil based paint that refused to blend in with the flat paint. After sanding, endless amounts of dust, extreme soreness, and barely making a dent in the four doors, I decided to try it. Worked like a charm. But I mistakenly used it in 90 degree heat and in full sun. It dried a bit premature and didn't remove all layers of paint. Still, where I applied it thick (before running out), it did a great job. I simply used a non-marring plastic scraping tool. Can't wait for next day delivery from amazon, so I'm off to the big box store to pick up several quarts to finish my doors and use it on other moulding or wood projects. I'll update photos on 04-23-17 after I re-apply it.

I ordered this with great skepticism over it having the ability to remove the e-coat that the reproduction doors for my Mustang came equipped with. I applied the stripped to the interior of the door and left it alone for 24 hours. I returned to several wet spots and several dry spots mixed together on the door. I did not see the normal lifted, bubbled paint that harsh strippers normally give, so I assumed this stuff would not work. Since I had the bottle, still mostly filled, I decided I'd give it another coat and wait 24 hours to see if it lifted. In my curiosity I remembered reading the instructions (gasp!!) which said to use an abrasive scrubbing pad or something similar to help lift the finish.
So, I picked up a nearby razor and drug it across the primer, just to see what it did...expecting the e-coat to laugh on my face. I was surprised by the primer sliding right off the surface! I grabbed a small wire brush and began lightly scrubbing the door and watched as the primer turned into a slurry of black powder, suspended in the Citri-Strip gel. I continued for maybe 5 minutes and had the majority of the door stripped to bare metal, with a few stubborn spots left. I used my brush and spread the slurry around over the surface again, waited a couple minutes and then re-brushed the stubborn spots. To my surprise, they were lifting off and joining the gel-of-shame. I brushed the slurry again and plan on letting it sit overnight to loosen the remaining crumbs without my efforts.
I'll clean it off tomorrow and calculate my elbow-labor. So far I'm impressed with it's stripping power and lack of lung-searing fumes.
