Not sure. I was in the basement and it worked from 2nd floor. You would have to try.

I would think "maybe" If floors are wood, maybe. If poured concrete, doubtful. Would think like unable to get a wireless phone to work in some structures. Works fine to the basement in my one story frame home, out into a yard storage building. or to the attached garage.

Depends on the size of the house. I can use it in my basement and be on the 3rd floor. My house is about 1500sq ft but I'm normally right above the area the monitor is and not the opposite side of the house

The unit for the baby room has to be plugged in at all times but the parents units come with rechargeable batteries that are included. Once fully charged can last up to two days.

The baby unit must be always plugged in (no battery). The parent unit(s) are normally plugged in, but can be unplugged and used on internal battery for short periods (a couple of hours?). If the baby unit loses power, the parent unit will sound an alarm (a GOOD feature).

You can do both. It comes with 3 adapters and 2 rechargeable batteries (since baby unit is supposed to be plugged in at all times).

You can plug all the units into AC outlets. Each unit comes with its own plug.

They work in both battery and/or plugged to wall. You do not need to remove battery to do this.

I bought this as a gift for my neice who had just given birth. I live in Alabama and she lives in California. I purchased online and she picked up in Caliornia store without any problems. I did my research re baby monitors and found this product to be the best buy for the money. There were two monitors with this product which was a big selling point for me. There were more expensive monitors but I recently purchased Vtech toys for my granddaughter and the quality of the product is excellent. My neice lives in a two story home and the babies room is upstairs. The base of course, is in the nursery and one monitor is set-up downstairs and the second she can clip on and carry with her into the yard. The monitor has a 1,000 foot radius and she says it is crystal clear and she feels comfortable putting the baby in her crib and doing her chores. I highly recommend this product. For the price to me, it is the best buy on the market.

Vtech Baby Monitor Set

My elderly father (90) is in his own bedroom/bathroom/lounge area in a different part of our house on the same floor as my bedroom/living area. This monitor is perfect! I was always fearful that he might fall and I wold not hear him. When he needs me he will take off his oxygen, because it is too short to come all the way to our room. But since he can't walk without oxygen, he loses his breath and is not able to go any further and is stuck in the middle of the hallway unable to move. With the monitor, this is great! Dad lives his life. If he wants me, he just hollers for me (louder than his TV) and I come running. It works for me out in the garden and weeding out in the yard too. He has his privacy and he has help when he drops something or needs me to let his dog back in. I can let him know dinner will be ready in ten minutes from my end too.

Great for Elderly

I bought this baby monitor to replace a fisher-price one we bought 5 years ago. One thing we wanted was portable devices meaning rechargeable functionality. I high recommend this product. I have a 3 storey house and the range is awesome. I haven't used the walkie talkie feature yet as our baby is only 4 months.

I bought this because  I had got a Motorola  one.  that was hard to hear even with the volume all the way up you couldn't  hear it well.  this one is great.. use it for my elderly  mother so that I can hear her when she needs help.. highly  recommend  for hearing baby or elderly
