A: AnswerNo its not. The control panel is not back lit. The picture of the microwave is pictured in the add as showing the buttons and numbers. But when plug in the only thing you can only see is the clock. Even when the overhead kitchen light is on i have to strain to see the numbers. Sad but the unit has to go back.Answered by cdisue

- A: AnswerYes, the hot top on right side is normal because that is where the "nucotron" is located. The instructions tell you to not have anything on top of the oven when it is in use, probably because of the heat which probably will melt chocolates in a box.

My new GE mircowave

Little lifesaver to us!
Pipe burst in our kitchen and we were forced to set up an alternative kitchen on our 3rd floor during repairs. This microwave is perfect for us to use now and along with a coffeemaker, will be perfect for our guests staying in the 3rd floor afterward. We put it through heavy use and it stood strong. I thought it would be small, but it’s a good size inside.

Stop reading reviews and buy this one!
This is the fourth time that I've had to buy a microwave. This one is by far the best. The beeps are not annoying. The blue light is not overwhelming. The key pad is easy to understand and to use. Heating is uniform and defrosting is easy peasy. Stop looking and reading reviews. Buy this microwave!
