Diana Richardson is known as the pioneer of the Slow Sex movement and, along with her partner, Michael Richardson, is the creator of the life-changing weeklong Making Love Retreat, which they have been offering in Europe since 1995.

Diana was born in South Africa, where she completed a six year Law degree (BA.LLB) after finishing school. She then trained as a massage therapist and bodyworker in the UK and later in the USA, and is a teacher of holistic massage and deep tissue rebalancing. She has been engaged in the body and involved with bodywork for the last 35 years.

From 1985 onwards, while living in India she began a personal research and inquiry into the union of sex and meditation - the basis of tantra - an ancient body of knowledge originating in India.

She wrote her first book in 1996, published as The Love Keys in 1999, and then later republished as The Heart of Tantric Sex, a best seller. Since then has written a further 7 books on the tantric approach to love and sex. These are translated into German, Spanish, French, with certain books translated in Russian, Korean, Czech, and Estonian.

Two books, Tantric Sex for Men and Tantric Love: Feeling versus Emotion, are co-authored with her partner, Michael Richardson.

Diana has also co-authored a book for young adults with Wedy Doeleman in Holland, called Cooler Sex. As yet not published in English. German (title: Cooler Sex), French (title: Cool Sex) editions available.

Diana's most recent book, published in April 2018, Tantric Sex & Menopause - Practices for Spiritual and Sexual Renewal - is co-authored with Janet McGeever from Australia.

Diana is now based in Switzerland with Michael, where they continue to guide couples in the art of slow, conscious sex in their highly successful Making Love Retreats.

Diana was invited as Tedx speaker to Linz, Austria on February 10, 2018, where she gave a 17 minute talk encapsulating the essence of her approach. Uploaded onto Utube 2 April 2018.

Be informed, Who you take advice from?Osho. Rajneeshees, These are not good people.
Anything related to Osho, I stay away. I wish I knew before I ordered the book. Too late to return. This is my $17.95 worth: First, if you are not aware of who Osho/Bhagwan Rajneesh, Ma Anand Sheela, and the Rajneeshpuram are, it's prudent that you do some research into the dark history of these people in the United States. Or, watch the video Wild Wild Country. It's morally and ethically not good. The author, Diana Richardson, makes several associations with Osho as a disciple/follower and quotes him directly in this text. Nowhere on the Amazon page for this book is this fact made available. It is clearly stated on the back cover of the book, but for whatever reason it has been omitted on the Amazon site. Surely the author is aware a full description is not given. I think, feel, and know I have been deceived. If I were aware of the association with Osho I would have not purchased it. Everyone knows that real love begins with trust. The author has violated that for me, and you. This is NOT TANTRA. The text is on the cheesy side..... The writing style did not appeal to me at all. My main issue here is the deceptive way the book is being sold. Buyer beware.

I just finished this book, my 1st introduction to Tantra. I admit I have thought from time to time about that well-known story about Sting and his wife having the most amazing sex for hours and hours. I finally researched it online a couple weeks ago and found out it was Tantra they practice. I searched for a book with good reviews and got this one. Sooo glad I did.

It's a marvelous book and though I have barely even begun putting it into practice, my lovely beau and I are enjoying an improved level of intimacy and satisfaction in the bedroom. He got the book as well and is enjoying it immensely. It is just so different than what we were taught about sex, and how to get the most out of it. I thought we had a pretty awesome sex life before, but this is taking things to a whole new level. A spiritual level, which is something I have always sought after. It's hard to comprehend or explain how having slow sex makes you feel so much closer to your lover, let alone feel so many deep feelings that are spiritually opening, but it does seem to do that.

This book is just so delicious to read, quite a sensual experience in itself. I could hardly put it down. Diana is a wonderful writer. I just ordered another of her books here (Tantric Orgasm for Women) on another viewers recommendation, and can't wait to get it. (2 whole days I have to wait!! ;D) I will re-read this while waiting.

I can't recommend this book enough. I feel to repeat a phrase mentioned by several other reviewers in that the information shared here very much resonated with me. I feel like I was learning truths that I've always instinctively known but that were never fully put together or laid out for me as clearly. I am especially intrigued by the information shared about polarity and see this as an amazing concept that is beautifully explained. I doubt the author's intent is to be political or to worry about political correctness. But I see that an unspoken yet clear message that comes from the understanding of sexual polarity is the natural beauty of male/female relationships and their superiority to homosexual relationships. I don't wish to bring hate mail to the author for suggesting that this book takes a stand against homosexuality. I honestly don't know the author's take on that. But to me, it explains the benefits of male female sexual connection and male female magnetism. The book doesn't demean homosexual relationships. It doesn't have to. But after reading about the naturally built in magnetic nature of male female relationships, I am more than ever convinced that homosexual relationships will never compete with the magic of heterosexual polarity. This book is a beautiful work and has been a catalyst for healthy conversations with my spouse about our sexuality and our sexual relationship. It is totally worth every penny.

This book offers insights and methods to help shift your focus into a tantric state. I found it helpful because I'm not sure where I am in my tantric journey as far as philosophy goes, and this book doesn't get bogged down in the dogma or philosophy but rather offers simple advice for how to achieve a tantric experience sans doctrine. If you are looking for a book that offers some insights into tantra without a deep dive into the mythos surrounding it, this book is for you!

    Worth the read

I've recently browsed around and found this book. Yesterday I was with my open relationship partner (I don't really have a name for it and that's ok with me) and I told her we were going to experiment today. We started off with just touching with awareness, hands, skin, nothing sexually explicit but it was a rather interesting experience. After just being together we started sharing with the words "I Feel/need" (described in the book) and while we made love for the first time, tears rolled down my eyes, and she cried too. It wasn't so much the sadness, but more like relief. When everything's done and though, every human being just wants to be accepted, when I got past the veil of ego, self doubt, and my own insecurities it was truly a refreshing experience.

I highly recommend this book not because it gives a clinical technique on how to please a women, rather it's more of an inward journey into oneself. Seeing myself reflected in her eyes made me realize that the me right now is good enough for myself, and that's really what it all leads to. Loving yourself, then having enough surplus to love others.

This is my first amazon review, but I had to share a piece of my story,
    Namaste

This is a good book for those who need a complete introduction and a great book for couples who are struggling with their relationship. My husband and I bought this book together for exploration. We found some insightful information, but had to skip through a lot of it to find the good stuff. I don't mean to say that the good stuff is scarce. All of the information is good, but there is a big focus on trust and communication and my husband and I have already established these things. There is also a lot of emotional healing going on in this book which is why I think it would be great for those who are genuinely in love, but feel they need help. I do not recommend it for "next level" seekers, or couples who want to expand on what they already have as we do.

This book gave me a new way to think about sex. In our culture it has become so twisted and surface level, but it doesn't have to be that way. Sex can be innocent, playful, and most importantly, present. What a fresh and beautiful way to experience making love and truly connect with yourself and your partner. I'm very glad I read this book! 💕

A great exposure to Tantra is given, mainly from the author's own experience, making for practical instruction. Many Keys, allowing one to enter into the Tantra space from various points, are also described. This book, recommended by my tantra partner, made for a perfect first read on the topic, and resulted in the most beautiful experiences I've had in life during the days which followed.

I'm a 60 year old man who now has a new partner. This book has challenged and changed my views on sex - what it is for, how it is best done and the real value to a relationship. It is absolutely brilliant and has given me a new lease of life, experiencing the best sex I've ever had. At my age, that is quite something.

Tantic sex is, I believe, very much misunderstood. If you read this book with an open mind and a willingness to put into action its principles with patience, enthusiasm and commitment, the payback is very substantial, both for you and your lover.

    Thank you Diana Richardson
