Was easy to install and program. Took me a few days to get the hang of using it but its already starting to read my mind. Ha. I don't use Home Away feature just to run errands or be gone for a few hours. There are others in the home and a small dog so having it sense whereabouts using MY cell phone isn't practical. But will use Home Away if we are all going on vacation or something. It's pretty fun. We put an additional sensor in our master bedroom since its so far from the thermostat and indeed it shows our room runs a solid 5 degrees different than rest of the house. Has been very useful for switching thermostat to gear readings from bedroom when we are in there watching TV or going to bed. Easy to switch it back and forth using my phone too. Would recommend this product except to anyone who resists technology.Read full review

Set-up of a schedule for when to use the remote sensor was super easy using my Nest App. I can now keep my bedroom the correct temperature at night when we are sleeping, and let the Nest in the atrium control the temperature during the day.

The sensor was needed because the nest thermostat was getting a false reading from air conditioning or heat going up the steps to the nest thermostat located in middle of upstairs hallway. Like all Nest products I've purchased, this worked well right out of the box. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that the app tells me that it has a weak connection to the thermostat in spite of being only about 12' apart, and both within 20' of the router.
