4.0 out of 5 stars. Ok for the priceVerified Buyer Reviewed by Jake in a tree from Idaho on Thursday, June 18, 2020This jacket worked ok for a couple hours in the rain, but it eventually started letting some water through. However, it did great at blocking the wind. I'd recommend it for short spells in the rain, but not prolonged periods.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Poor hood designVerified Buyer Reviewed by Robert from Los Angeles on Monday, March 16, 2020Hood refused to stay in place. Hard to stay dry if your hood won't keep your head dry or in a downpour water gets your shoulders wet and hair soaking wet. Won't bother giving it to Goodwill for someone else to have the same problems. Don't know if my soaked clothes where from the hood issues or the fabric isn't waterproof.

5.0 out of 5 stars. MehVerified Buyer Reviewed by Chef Chrys from IL on Wednesday, December 18, 2019I gave it a 5 star because there really is nothing wrong with it, just used to the PreCip. It's not as roomy, I wear it every night for work come rain sleet or snow, it keeps the wind out and I'm very warm. I haven't had it in a down pour as yet so that's still to be tested. I liked the cuffs better when they were velcro and the hood had a wider brim.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Strong buyVerified Buyer Reviewed by Rav4_Dad from Battlefield, Mo on Friday, December 6, 2019This jacket checked off most of the boxes for me. I prefer elastic cuffs and I won't buy outerwear without a YKK zipper. Although there's not a liner, the shell backing doesn't feel clammy like many rain jackets. An adjustable hood would be a nice touch, although I wasn't expecting one in this price range. Marmot has a strong reputation and it be hard to go wrong this jacket.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Simple basic rain coatVerified Buyer Reviewed by Graham from WI on Tuesday, October 1, 2019Basic no frills rain coat, made out of a coated material with a breatheable 'gore tex' type liner.
Good cut with nice long arms and a true-to-size fit that leaves enough underneath for a hoodie without feeling baggy and bulky with just a tee-shirt.
Some of the features like elastic cuffs, no vents, lower end zipper and the adjustability on the hood made me go with a more expensive and more versatile outer shell type jacket, but if you're just looking for a perfect textbook rain jacket this would be great. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Does the JobVerified Buyer Reviewed by LubyTuesday from New York NY on Monday, May 13, 2019This is a basic, lightweight, rain jacket that works well. I've been in torrential rain, and remained dry. I appreciate the elastic cuffs which help keep sleeves and arms dry even when active. I also like the way the white lining looks. I only have a minor complaint, which is that I wish the hood was a little bigger, but that's a personal preference, not really a defect in the jacket. I felt this jacket was worth the 40ish dollars I paid for it (but maybe not worth the $100+ suggested retail price - its a simple, basic jacket.)

4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice lite jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by BWH from Idaho on Monday, March 11, 2019Marmot has always made quality stuff and this jacket hits the mark. It's super lite, almost more like a windbreaker. Seems are taped and although I've not had it in the rain, I don't see any issues. My only initial complaint is the cuffs are elastic and not adjustable so if you have big wrists or want to have a fleece under it, it might not be ideal. Fits true to size over a shirt or thermal, but not overly large for bigger base layers. Works well for me....

5.0 out of 5 stars. Lightweight & HoodVerified Buyer Reviewed by Dr. Jeff from FL on Sunday, March 3, 2019Only tried it on as we have not had any rain, but it fits well, and I expect it will keep me dry when it does rain. Nice and lightweight, and hood fits really nice.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Looks good; haven't used it yetVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mike's hikes from Houston on Monday, February 25, 2019It's in my backpack which is why I bought it. I relied on Marmot's brand name and hope it lives up to it. It's a nice jacket. If it's as water proof and wind resistant as I hope then I'll give it 5 stars.
