Black Panther is one of the year’s most-anticipated movies and promises another action-packed adventure for the Avengers-based franchise. Chadwick Boseman is back as the title character, following his debut in the role in Captain America: Civil War. The new MCU installment sees Black Panther return to Wakanda after the events of the hit 2016 movie and finding an old adversary challenging him for the throne. Michael B. Jordan plays the villain, who is known as “Killmonger.”

Black Panther also stars Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o and Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya, as well as Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Sterling K. Brown, Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis, whose nefarious MCU character, Ulysses Klaue, was last seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The movie is directed by Creed helmer Ryan Coogler. Fandango spoke exclusively to Coogler about the wildly buzzed-about film and also the recently announced Kendrick Lamar album that will accompany it upon release.

Not only is Black Panther sure to be a thrilling blockbuster in its own right when it opens on February 16, but this latest MCU installment is likely to directly lead in to this summer’s hottest movie, the epic Marvel superhero crossover Avengers: Infinity War, due out on May 4.
