Sometimes you just want to grab your camera plus a second lenses and go. This bag fits my Nikon Z7 with the 24-70mm f4 attached, and the 35mm f1.8 perfectly. If I take out the divider it fits my Tamron 70-200 f2.8 but not attached to the body.

Have you ever given someone a gift that you (secretly) wish you had kept for yourself? Well, this is one of those times. Dang, this camera bag is sexy! The "cool factor" is off the charts! All the well thought-out details come together to make the ONA Bowery one of the best looking, coolest, most functional and amazing camera bags there is. I have to confess, I'm a leather snob. I'm very particular about the "hand". You know how some leather just feels cheap? This feels like "buttah". It's thick, yet soft and pliable. It has to be the right texture and color. I want it to get better with age and develop a patina that tells a story. This bag has all that...down to the stitching. The materials and construction are clearly high-quality. It's going to last "forever". Like most of the other reviewers, I love the color. I have camera bag envy. Sigh.

This is the smallest camera bag in the ONA line-up, so don't plan on using it for your travel, work or main carry bag if you schlep around a lot of lenses and accessories. It's more of a "runaround town with your camera and maybe 1 extra lens" kinda bag. It fits a digital SLR nicely. She carries a Fuji X-T1 with the Fuji XF18-55 lens most of the time. Her extra lenses are the Fuji XF 10-24 wide angle and Fuji XF 50-140 telephoto lenses. She doesn't carry around all those lenses in this bag at the same time - it's really too small for that, but she does sometimes take along the wide angle lens. I'm not so sure you could carry around the Fuji telephoto as a 2nd lens and haven't checked, but I think it would work if you were just carrying camera body with telephoto attached and no extra lenses. If anyone wants to know for sure, just ask in the comments and I'll confirm...she has the bag with her at the moment.

I researched and searched the internet for other amazing, leather camera bags and trust me, there just isn't anything out there that even compares. ONA is the only game in town as far as I'm concerned and if, after reading this review, you decide the Bowery isn't for you, they have several other models. I went back and forth between the Bowery and the Brixton (next size up) and almost went with the Brixton, for the larger capacity, but decided on this one as she likes to have her camera with her most of the time and I felt the Bowery fit that bill better, especially for a female. She's not one to carry a purse with bunch of "stuff" around with her (like I am), so I figured this camera bag could function as a daily carry bag that would stealthily carry her camera and an extra lens, plus, hold keys, a small wallet, phone and lipstick at the same time. It is perfect for that, but I would say, it's not going to carry much more without bursting at the seams. This also probably isn't going to be a good option for you if you want it for your main/only camera bag unless you carry a point and shoot or an SLR with one lens OR if you're really concerned about weight/packability because it's not lightweight. ONA bags are heavier than your average camera bag and let's face it, carrying a lot of weight on your shoulder/body after much time, gets old fast. The smaller Bowery will be more comfortable to carry around all day because it's lighter than the Brixton and because it won't hold as much extra stuff. Of course, you can adjust the strap and wear it cross-body which is more comfortable. **On a recent RV trip, she brought this bag and used it when walking around, and brought along an extra bag to carry the things she wanted, but didn't necessarily need to have with her at all times. Two bags probably aren't practical for air travel, but since we were in a mobile home, it worked out just fine. She could have taken her larger, cordura camera bag, and had access to all her stuff in one place, but is so in-love with this bag, she opted for the 2 bag option. :-)

If you're on the fence between this and the Brixton, I feel your pain. It took me awhile to decide. Both have their strong points. At first, I was wanting a bag that would allow her to carry some camera gear and maybe laptop or iPad. Then, I started doing some research and couldn't get past the weight of the bag issue. Reality is, I decided she wouldn't like carrying aIl that stuff in one bag (unless it had wheels), and in the end, I decided the Bowery was the better option because it's more "purse-like" and lighter. Plus, I feel Brixton is more masculine appearing...not a bad thing for the guys, but for females, that might be a consideration. Thankfully, I made the right decision, because she was/is crazy about this bag. She loved the look, color and feel of the leather. I told her she could get a different model, and had her look at the ONA website - the first thing she said was she liked the Bowery the best and wanted to keep it. She thought the other ones looked too masculine! Whew!

      5 stars all the way.

This is an AWESOME quality bag. The leather is VERY thick and it will take a bit of use to break it in, but should last for MANY years to come. Because it is such a simple design, it can accomodate a large number of systems effectively. I put my own set of lens dividers on either side of the primary lens space vertically holding a Hasselblad Lunar with the Sony E PZ 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens and it gives me room for the 90mm EF 2.8 Macro and the Sony E OSS 50mm 1.8 or 16-55 E Hassy branded lens on either side, along with four batteries (in the ThinkTank double battery pouches), a Color Checker Passport (inside front pocket), small flash, small Sony remote (in one end of the bag pockets), business cards (in same end pocket), lens cleaners (other end pocket), iPhone (inside front pocket) and even my iPad Mini in the back pocket.

The all brass attachments and buckles are both elegant and highly functional. Wide (about 2 inches) adjustable shoulder strap is comfortable in both traditional shoulder and cross body wearing positions. The bag is NOT light, but that is also part of the cache of a bag like this. Even with the weight, it is quite comfortable to carry all day because of the wide leather strap. Leather just feels better than neoprene or webbing when it comes to straps. I always liked leather wrist and camera straps. I love the versatility of the Op-Tech system, but I wish they would provide a high quality leather strap option to replace the neoprene. That would make their rigs PERFECT with the quick connects and a leather strap...

You will want to treat this with a high quality leather conditioner on a regular basis as you break it in. Also, be aware that these leather bags are VERY easy to scratch and scuff, and they are designed that way on purpose. Every scratch and stuff helps to soften the leather and give the bag unique character. Don't shy away from these encounters because, as the bag gets more character marks, you will begin to not mind them as they overlap and blend to create a durable and chic bag. It is a hard thing to get used to the first time you get a tanned but not "finished" leather item, but they truly do age amazingly well. I have a Harley-Davidson riding jacket that weighs like 30 pounds that started out SUPER stiff and now just fits like a second skin and moves and looks fantastic. Don't give up on this bag. Give it time to work in and you will be truly happy with it in the end.

Some reviews have mentioned that the fold-in flaps seem to get in the way when closing it. This could be a problem if you over-stuff the bag or put in lenses that are too long or large in diameter. The flaps keep the items inside nice and secure and keep them from falling out when the bag is opened. They provide a positive stop for the flap and also give decent side protection to the contents in inclement weather without having a full over the opening flap over design (which can limit configurability). Also, as with the rest of the leather, as they wear in, they will get more and more flexible and easy to deploy and collapse.

This bag is meant for smaller systems and lenses like Leica, Sony mirrorless, etc. It is not designed for a full size Canon 5Dm3 with a battery grip and a 24-300 L lens. For a high quality and stylish everyday carry bag it is fantastic. This bag travels very well and, while it clearly looks like a high quality bag, it does not SCREAM steal me I have $10K worth of camera equipment inside me. It does not look austere, but definitely distinguished. The complete lack of external branding is also quite nice. There have been some negative comments about the closure system (it is a slip buckle design) which CAN be a trick to close, but, once it is closed it is quite secure. Once you get the hang of it, it is no more difficult than a standard snap buckle, you just have to make sure it fully engages and you will be set.

In all, this is an excellent quality and durable bag with very good camera protection for walking about with every day. It is not a Pelican case. It is not a waterproof tough bag. It is great for serious amatures, professionals, reporters, etc. It can accomodate a wide array of equipment, both still photography and video style gear, and protects and organizes it well with the help of third party add-ons. Unlike bags that have a set number and style of organizers and dividers, the LACK of divided space is part of what makes this bag so versatile. You can easily "configure" the bag to hold other components by having those components in organized systems as well (lens pouches, battery bouches and cases, flash cases, etc.). If you have the money, just buy one and use it. You will not regret it. And 30 years from now you will still be elated every time you take it with you on your next adventure.

Ordered the bag on March 2024 from Amazon. The bag is very stylish and elegant and I love to carry it with my camera gear. The problem is, it has very strong leather smell that gives you a headache and I cannot carry it for a long time. I tried different ways to place the bag in an open air hoping maybe the strong smell will vanish, but hopeless. I have emailed Ona customer service 3 months ago asking if they have any recommendation to solve this problem. Today is August 11, 2024 and have not heard back from them.

I bought this bag to hold my Fuji XT1 with 23mm 1.4. I wanted something small to hold few items and I can take it everywhere without size issue, at the same time I wanted something to look nice. The Bowery meets all this.
I do recommend to buy the Antique Cognac because it really shout quality and the color is amazing. I don't recommend to buy the Khaki waxed canvas, my friend bought it to save money and he really regrets it.

In terms of functions, the main compartment can hold my Fuji XT1 with 23mm lens attached, Fujinon 18-55 mm lense, and another small lens or couple of batteries and accessories. The other pockets can hold iPhone6, small wallet, filters or light cleaning set.
In terms of weights, it is 270 gram heavier than the canvas one, but honestly I took it in a long photo walk and did not feel tiered or uncomfortable.
Overall, I like putting this bag on my shoulder because it is great looking and fits my requirements.

Le cuir est de très bonne qualité et qui promet de bien vieillir, je le trouve assez petit et pas très encombrant.
