Great for console gaming!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to use with my Xbox One X, got home and moved Division 2, Forza Horizon 4 & Motorsport 7, and a few others over to the SSD. Booted up Division 2 first, game loaded pretty quick. Tested the fast traveling, which usually takes 10-15 seconds for me, if not more. With the SSD, it takes 3 seconds now, and that's not an exaggeration. It's absurd how much faster it is than my Passport Ultra external. Tried Horizon 4 next, again that one loaded quick as well. Tested fast traveling as well, usually takes at least 10 seconds, but with the SSD it takes enough time for the initial load screen then bam, it's done, so maybe 2-3 seconds. It's unbelievable how much of a difference the loading times are, and it helps allow more time to actually game, than waiting for load screens. Sprung for the 500 gig one, to test it out, though definitely will be getting at least the 1tb model in the future. Sure, SSD still fetches a hefty price compared to regular portable external devices, but it's well worth it. Also size wise, it's about the size of a credit card, maybe even smaller. The depth is about the size of a fingertip. Picture shows just how small it is, compared to the Passport, and then the Stubs card.

Works With IPad and IPadOS
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a hard drive to use on my iPad Pro. I tried two others but they did not work so I gave this SSDa try and it works well. Plugs right in usb-c to usb-c. Comes with two cables usb-c to usb-c and usb to usb-c. Solid state is pricey so if you don’t need there are much less expensive options with way more space. Oh and it’s super small. I was shocked at the size. Not too much bigger than a pack of tic tacs and about the same thickness.

Best option to increase HDD on your mac minis!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have Mac mini with 256Gb SSD but I do need more to store my project files and sometimes rendered videos. Attaching this external SSD to Mac Mini is one of the best options available to easily increase available storage. It is pretty fast around 520~540 read and write.

Perfect match to MacBook Air Retina
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just received this 500 gb T5 SSD ext Drive in Rose Gold. The color is pretty close to my 2018 Gold MacBook Air (Retina). This is a huge plus for me as I love certain matching electronics. I love the metallic feel, tiny palm footprint and it weighs almost nothing, but sturdy. I ended up choosing this over another popular brand, but I’m so pleased I got this one, I’m also glad that it comes with the two option usb-c and usb-a cords. So far, I’ve transferred almost 75 gigs of data from an old usb-a SSD ext drive, it went pretty fast, and without getting hot. I just grabbed another in a different color. Will be doing an update.

Great drive for Xbox one x
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this with the idea that a solid state drive might be faster than the internal hard drive on my Xbox one x - even though it is connected using a usb cable. Turns out it did help. The load times on Red Dead Redemption 2 and Anthem seem to have improved since moving them over to this drive. My only regret is I didn’t get the 1 tb version. With this one, I can only put a few larger games at a time and have to move them as I play them.

Great SSD Drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great drive with plug and play installation. I was able to use encryption software to encrypt 50 gigs for the security of my personal files. I have owned this drive for just over 30 days and so far it has been flawless. I also purchased the Khanka Protective Zipper Carrying Storage Travel Hard Case Cover Bag for Samsung T1 / T3 / T5 Portable 500GB. Regardless of what you may have read elsewhere, the cord and drive fit into the case together just fine.

Excellent!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great working drive. I use it as my functioning drive for FCPX with my 2017 MBP. I throw my footage into Final Cut with my library on the external then get the files off my internal. All the rendering is super fast, no hiccups, I hardly have to wait at all for renders - most of the time I don’t- and there are zero glitches. I’ll most likely pick up a second (larger) one as well. The USB-C / SSD drives are awesome!

Q: QuestionWhat is this used for
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This is a solid state external hard drive. It has no moving parts and uses special memory chips instead of a spinning platter. This makes it VERY fast! You would use it anywhere you would need an external hard drive. For me, I use it with my Xbox One X, so that my favorite games load up extremely fast.

Q: QuestionHow long is this external drive known to last? I've used of other marks before & lost info or was locked out after 3 years of constant use
Asked by Luis.
- A:Answer Obviously I can’t speak to this specific device, but I have a couple of SSD drives that are still running six years later with no apparent issues. I would suggest that you consider the use case and make your choices accordingly. If you are using a drive to make regular backups, I would recommend replacing it every three years, which jibes with your experience. Speed, capacity and price should make that a favorable time anyway. There is also the difference between “have to have” and “nice to have” backup protection that only you are equipped to decide. This drive wouldn’t be my first choice for backup storage, where capacity is more important than speed. This is a blazing fast external drive, but it’s capacity is only 500 gb. I use this as a caching drive and it’s worked wonderfully for that purpose and it’s small size makes it highly portable.

Q: QuestionI can't figure out how to transfer files? Do you just open a 'File Explorer' window for the source location and open a second 'file explorer' window for the T5 and drag and drop the files you want copied? OR does it actually have file mgmt software?
Asked by Artist.
- A:Answer Connect the SSD to your device. On Windows, open File Explorer, and it should be located on the left side, drag any file from another window or desktop to the SSD’s location. I found it best to open two File Explorer windows side-by-side to see the transfer easier. (Ex. One window would be Documents, and the other would be the SSD) On a Mac, same as above, and you can open different tabs if you don’t want separate windows. On tablet or phone, go to file manager and move the files to the ssd through a long press. Go to settings to automatically download to the SSD, if it’s always connected

Q: QuestionOnce data is backed up on the T5 may it be downloaded onto a different computer from the one initially backed up from. If I buy a new computer for example, may I download the data on the T5 to the new computer?
Asked by Jerry.
- A:Answer I just copy my data to the external drive and then copy the files back to the target PC.
Answered by UnoITWizard
Q: QuestionDoes this T5 automatically transfer what I am saving on my pc to the external drive, or do I have to do this manually?
Asked by Sue.
- A:Answer It comes with a software that can walk you through a PC backup but I did it manually because it was easy. This drive is super fast and would highly recommend it over tradional external hard drives.
Answered by skhan
Q: QuestionDoes this have included software that does automatic backups? Or is this just more of a fast SSD thumb drive? Not a techie so I do not want to have to be doing a bunch of downloads or configurations to get it to backup.
Asked by T599.
- A:Answer I asked the same question when I got mine as I expected to see some kind of software. It's actually pretty simple. I just open 'file explorer'. Under 'files', you can open another window. One window shows the files on your computer and the other shows the external drive. Highlight the files you want to copy and just drag them into the external drive. Good Luck!
