Great Phone Tool
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you spend a lot of time on your phone, these are the earbuds for you. I have not used any earbuds or headphones that match the outstanding performance that these Jabras delivered. They provide fantastic sound quality for those on both ends of the conversation. The controls on the device worked as intended without any glitchiness that sometimes accompanies controls that are asked to provide multiple functions. There are three “pods” on the cable that connects the earbuds; one that is positioned close to your mouth which contains the microphones (yes, two), and the mute button/voice assistant call button, and two larger ones that I suspect contain the batteries. One of these larger pods also contains the charging port (micro USB) and three function buttons, two which are flat and the center one which is raised. One of my gripes (a small one) about this device lies with this pod. The little rubber cover for the charging port sits proud of the surface and my fingers confuse it for the raised center button. I would have preferred the charging port be on the other pod which has no surface features whatsoever. The earbuds contain magnets on their backsides which help in cable management when the buds are not in your ears, but they also serve some functionality by pausing music or ending phone calls. This is handy and saves a step when you remove the earbuds to have a conversation with someone in your presence. The Elite 45e comes with three sets of separate ear gels and ear wings to allow you to customize the fit to your ears. Some competitors have the gel and the wing combined into one unit for each bud thus limiting fit possibilities. The device comes with rudimentary printed instructions and a more comprehensive 22 “page” manual in the phone app. The app gives you a variety of settings to allow you to customize the sound quality and experience in more ways than just an equalizer (which is also present). You can turn on and off audio prompts, Caller ID announcements, and hearing your own voice in the headset while on calls. You can also set different equalization curves for three different scenarios that Jabra refers to as standard use, commute and focus. Even though the equalizer has only five bands, they provide more than enough customization to the sound quality. “Bass heads” will probably be let down by the lack of really deep bass response, but most users will be satisfied in my opinion. I think Jabra is known more for phone-use headsets in business settings rather than audiophile products, but I have to say that I was rather impressed with the musical reproduction of the Elite 45e. Also provided are “ocean waves” and “pink noise” settings for those times when you want to mask outside distractions. While audio announcements give you only high, medium and low values for battery life, the phone app has a percentage indicator for remaining power of the headset. The iPhone app works great and has a bunch of settings, but I am a little disappointed that there is no app for my Mac as I do like to use headsets for music on my laptop. Bluetooth pairing was quick and easy on both my phone and laptop, however Bluetooth range was limited and noticeably shorter than other Bluetooth devices I use with my phone. Voice prompts are clear and easy to understand which makes them usable and helpful. All-in-all I am impressed with the Jabra Elite 45e and think it is a worthy competitor in a crowded market and is worth the price based on performance as both a business tool and as an entertainment accessory. If I could award stars in 1/2 steps, I would probably give it 4.5 stars for the Bluetooth range and charging port placement, but as these are both rather minor issues, five it is.

Weak volume level but clear microphone
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like these headphones. When you tack on the name Elite you think top of the line product. I'm not saying these are bad, but they weren't elite in my opinion. The one thing that was top notch for these is the microphone during calls. I have had plenty of wireless headphones and they range from muffled to too much background noise. However, these really did a great job during calls with clarity and preventing background noise. However, the biggest problem I have with them is their volume. It is so low that even though my friends could hear me better on a call, I had a hard time hearing them. At first I thought maybe it was my phone being the problem, but with everything maxed out it just wasn't loud enough. I like headphones to be loud enough that I should need to use the volume to keep them from being too loud. I even downloaded the app to see if I could enable an advanced setting or something. Upon first power on, there is a nice voice prompt to help you through Bluetooth pairing. Tones are given with volume max and power down, with some voice assistance options when pressing the center button on the microphone. Besides the volume level, audio sounds clear, but missing crisp highs and deep lows. Maybe it was just the volume level, but some deep bass was missing all together. As for the app, the packaging barely mentions it and nothing in the quick guide. A quick search in Google Play for Jabra will return with Jabra Sound+, however, you also need a separate application called Jabra Services when you go to run it. Once installed you can connect to the headphones and update them to their latest firmware. Options in the app are basic, with a simple EQ, some call audio settings and minor choices on audio prompts. The assistance does allow for caller ID to be read in a voice when you receive a call. However, the app didn't help increase the volume level as I had hoped. Plus the Jabra Services application is always running in the background so it can read the caller ID. As for design, the around the neck band is soft rubber and surprisingly did not grab the small hairs like some others brands have. It rests lightly around the neck and keeps in place pretty well. When not in use the headphones connect magnetically and turn off to conserve power. They instantly turn back on, connect and with the press of the center button you can get right back to what you were doing. The fit of the ear buds are pretty comfortable, required a little twist to lock in and make a seal, but with the volume level really felt like they needed to be further in the ear. For battery life I was getting over 7.5 hours of straight Bluetooth audio. Of course it can last longer with intermittent use, such as just for answering calls. As for charging I was unable to get them to charge using any USB port on my laptop. I asked the question, and I see others are able to use their PC, I can charge other devices with the same PC, so I have no idea what the issue is. If I used a phone charger they were able to get a full charge in about 2 hours. If these were a bit louder in volume levels I might consider them a higher rating, but when I have cheaper headsets that can do everything else pretty much the same with better audio, I can't recommend these.

Finally, Great fit and Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally a pair of headphones that fit great, stay in and actually have BASS. I absolutely love these. Bass is really good, best I have tried to date. I would like a touch more high range straight out of the box, but through my phones EQ I can get it where I really like the sound. Call quality is also excellent as you can imagine from Jabra. Buttons are easy and make sense. The flexible memory wire neckband holds the headphones in place. No sliding or tugging when you only have one ear bud in your ear. One weird thing is they stung my ears a little when first wearing them. Real mild, but never the less there. Seams to go away after awhile. Maybe it is just my magnetic personalty ;-) The Sound + App is where you can make many of the changes such as voice assistant settings, Sound Settings (EQ), Battery Level, manual etc. The earbuds are magnetic, and connect together for convenient cable and power management. When the earbuds are connected, your music will be paused or your call ended. Separate the buds will answer an incoming call. Pros: Ease of use Bass Flexible neck band Call quality 2 yr limited warranty Cons: Would like a little more battery life since I use them so much. Could use a little more high end for music. I test quite a few headphones and these are now my Go-To set now. Highly recommend for those that want great call and music quality.

Great workout headphones with nice design!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jabra - Elite 45e Wireless In-Ear Headphones setup is quick and easy. I was able to connect my iPhone quickly using Bluetooth. I am wearing this headphones everyday as it was so much convenient while running / biking due to long battery life around 8 hours. The headphones feel good while wearing and well built. The design protect the headphones slipping around the neck while doing workouts. The buttons are very easy to use for play, pause and volume adjustments. The earbuds are magnetic, and connect together for convenient cable and power management. The Sound + App is useful such as voice assistant settings, Sound Settings (EQ), Battery Level, manual etc. It supports Bluetooth 4.1 interface to enable simple pairing and wireless streaming with compatible devices. The headphones are sweat-resistant to provide protection from sweat, so you can easily wear these headphones while working out. The sound quality is amazing and this headphone is very comfortable to wear and lightweight. The battery is great and providing close to 8 hours. I was able to charge quickly in 2 hours. I use this headphone all day during work and workout. It is one of the best headphone owned by me and another outstanding product from Jabra.

Great for making conference calls.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using the Jabra elite 45e for a few days, I have to say, I really like them. They have a neckband feel to them, even though they are not identified as neckband headphones The ear tips are changeable, comfortable and do a great job at keeping out unwanted sound. The music reproduction is clear and sounds great. Using them to make phone calls are where they really shine. They sound better than any other headphones I have tested. The only thing that disappoints me about them is that they don't come with a carrying case.

Great headphones for the office
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these for the office, and I bought the Elite Active 65t for the rest of my adventures. As I've posted in other reviews I'm not a fan of headphones that require you to jam them deep into your ear canal for them to stay. The wings for these are really comfortable and I have no ear fatigue after having these on all day. I charge them every other day because I have them on for long periods of time most days. The mix of eartips and wingtips is great and I had no problems getting a comfortable fit. Sounds quality is more than acceptable and you can tune the equalizer through jabras phone app. Sounds quality isn't as good as a pair of larger over the ear headphones but I like these. Good battery life and sound, easy to use. I wouldn't workout with these but for travelling or the office I give them 2 thumbs up.
