I've been wanting a VR headset ever since they were in development. After a few years went by, I saw the Oculus at best buy for a steal of a deal; comparing it to its original price. I also like that best buy offers a 2 year warranty, allowing me to have fun & share with friends without any worries about damage.
I was extremely impressed by the tracking with just 2 sensors. (You can buy a third tracker but no rush, you can get it anytime you're ready.) This headset is also very comfortable and still fits nice & snug. You could play for hours without any discomfort. The setup is really simple. It walks you through the entire process and even makes it fun.
This headset turns any simple room into a vast world to explore and discover anew realities you've never experienced.

This was a gift for my son. He said that setting it up wasn't too difficult. The sensors were a little tricky to adjust because his room is small. He figured out a few kinks and made the necessary adjustments. He seems to be very pleased with it.

Tried it in store and I bought it right away! Now that it's more affordable, I highly recommend it for a great VR experience! Comes with 2 sensors, 2 controllers and the headset. So make sure you have at least 3 USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI out on your PC. It was a challenge getting the sound from my laptop out to an external speaker butwas able to do so by buying a separate device and did some tweaking in the oculus software. My kids love them and laughe played for hours! Great thing to have if you're a gamer.

Did not know vr it’s so good I got it just out of curiosity if didn’t like it I could always return it. But I live it keep in mind you’ll need to do some rearranging because you need room to move around at least enough room to take a few steps in every direction
A:AnswerI have the HTC Vive and had racked up enough BestBuy reward points where the Rift bundle was only $100 so I figured why not. Having both systems, they are key differences. The HTC Vive is really for room scale play. You need a fairly large space to get the full benefit. The Rift works best in standing or seated mode and its sensors are easier to position on a desk if you're going to play a game in a seated position. Quality is about the same which makes sense since both systems are the same resolution. Tracking is about the same for both and so is performance. The Rift headset is lighter, but does not accommodate eyeglasses easily, where the Vive does.
The setup procedure for the Vive is easier even though it is a more complex setup. If I were forced to choose one over the other, I would choose the Vive, but the Rift has the better controllers - the Touch controllers are awesome - if HTC did something similar, it would beat the Rift in practically every category.
I guess this is a long way of saying that if you plan to play VR in a mostly seated or standing position and mostly facing forward the Rift is fine, but if you want full room scale freedom then the Vive is your best option. As far as disappointment, for me they are both fine provided you spend the time to adjust and configure your system to get the most out of them. With Steam, most of the titles are cross platform.
A:AnswerIf you have enough USB 3.0 Ports then yes. If you have a docking Station that would help. My recommendation is look at Windows Mix Reality Headsets. Works similar to Oculus Rift, but uses less ports and Hardware Requirements are lower. Acer, Lenovo, Dell, HP, Samsung all have brand new Headset. Very Important must have Windows 10 Pro with new update "Fall Creator". Which adds VR capable Headsets to OS.
A:AnswerAbsolutely, You need at least Intel Core i5, 8 Gig of Memory, Most important a GTX 970 or Higher graphics Card. Any thing below this look at Windows Mixed Reality Headset instead.
A:AnswerIn this box, it comes with the headset, 2 monitors, 2 controllers (one for each hand. Picture a wii remote, but with xbox buttons) and the headset. An cbox controller is not required to use this product.
