About this ebook

From #1 New York Times Bestseller Vi Keeland, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.
It was just a typical Monday.

Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client.

After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed.

Or so I thought…

Until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch.

My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance.

And that was the good part of my day.

Because the gorgeous man crouched down and looking at me like he wanted to eat me alive, was none other than my ex, Gray Westbrook.

A man who I’d only just begun to move on from.

A man who my heart despised—yet my body obviously still had other ideas about.

A man who was as charismatic and confident as he was sexy.

Somehow, I managed to make it through my presentation ignoring his intense stare.

Although it was impossible to ignore all the dirty things he whispered into my ear right after I was done.

But there was no way I was giving him another chance, especially now that he was a client
…was there?

Late last night, I finished The Naked Truth by Vi Keeland. She is one of my go-to authors because not only are her books full of heart, but also full of circumstances that feel very real. Here is my truth: This book is a beautiful story filled with betrayal, heartbreak, heat, faith, second chances, and uncontrollable circumstances. This book is a perfect example of the human condition and how empathy can open up new paths to take in life. Enjoyable, with laughable moments that will make you smile. Sexy, with moments that will make you melt. Beauty, that will make your own heart swoon with each turned page. Devastating, in a way that makes a heart wilt when considering life and how sometimes.....things simply do not turn out how one expected them to. This story is another hit by Vi Keeland, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to read it early. Gray and Layla have a combustible relationship in more ways than one. Not only is the chemistry evident in the playful, smoldering banter but in the sweet moments that make you fall in love with them throughout their journey. Gray was an unexpected treat. I had no idea his story would be one of bad luck, deceit, and a deep longing to live and breathe his true love after an unexpected three years of lost time. Yet, his ability to be honest, open, and true while pursuing Layla is wondrous. The character development is perfection as his story unfolds, as forgiveness and a new identity to endure become prominent. He is caring, funny, kind, sexy, and sweet. Most of all, he is simply the portrait of the man of any woman's dreams. As for Layla, I felt her character's choices, fears, and hopes deeply as she began to navigate finding a way to give her heart to a man who once broke it before; to take a chance, a risk. She is most certainly one of the most compelling heroine's I've had the pleasure of getting to know because not only is she charismatic and lovely, but she gives her all for those she loves. As she opens up to Gray and they find their way back to one another, despite drastic changes that come with any tragedy, a strength shines through her character that in the real world any decent human being wishes to achieve at some point. Ultimately, both of these characters are an engaging and marvelous creation depicting humanity; in belief that the ability to love can render any one person capable of being brave, forgiving, free, and kind. Basically, this story is golden and needs to be read by everyone.

I absolutely love Vi Keeland’s books she is one of my very favorite authors. Every book of hers that I have read I feel like I am literally in the story and this one is no different. This was a very unique second chance romance told in dual pov. Immediately opening this book, I was pulled into the story. In the first chapter we learn that Layla Hutton recently completed community service in a prison teaching a class. Now her boss is wanting her to handle a new VIP client. Imagine her surprise when that client turns out to be Gray Westbrook. Layla and Gray met while she was teaching and he was serving time for something that we soon find out he was set up for. She has not seen him since she found out that he left a very important detail out of his life. He is out and starting a new business and wants to hire the law firm that Layla works for more importantly he wants Layla to handle it. In reality he wants to be able to spend time with her tell her his story and hopefully get her back. But Layla wants nothing to do with it but he is out to change her mind. I can say that the story has a few surprises in store so hang on I will not spoil it for you!! I love Gray and Layla’s story at times it had me clutching a box of tissue. We are also given chapters of the past and we see how they began and how their story went wrong. They have such combustible chemistry and the banter of boy!! We are given and incredible cast of secondary characters that you will not want to miss. So, go right now and one click 😊

I always get excited when I get to read a new Vi Keeland novel, whether it be on her own or co written with Penelope Ward. And this was no exception. I read the synopsis and wanted my hands on it quick smart! It is hard writing reviews, because you want to talk about all the great things that happen, but you don't want to spoil it for everyone either. So with that in mind, here are some of my thoughts. Grayson Westbrook, or Gray, because we frequently talk about the hero first. And what a hero..... he was loyal to a fault and it costs him dearly..... three years worth to be exact. He is very swoony and a true romantic and even though he was robust and tough, he had this vulnerable side that was adorable. He connects with Layla Hutton in a couple of ways, they both have done something worth paying penance for which gives them time to reflect but also connect. They then discover more about each other and that they both come from unorthodox families. Layla is conflicted about giving Gray a second chance, with everything they have now learnt, she is unsure if they can find their HEA. I enjoyed this book, I really did. It has a great story; full of romance, a little bit of angst with a few twists and some steamy romps. I find I am drawn to reading second chance romance more than others and that it was in dual POV was an added bonus. This book felt comfortable to read, like it was very familiar. It may not be my all time favourite, but it is definitely worth the read.
