SHORT fingers
- Familiarity:

I purchased according to the size chart but the finger length of these gloves is comically short! When I took them out of the package I thought they were the ones I got for my kids.

Solid gloves
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The reviews are accurate; the gloves do run small. But if you factor that in, they are well worth the price. They have features you’d expect at a higher-priced pair of gloves and ultimately do the job of keeping fingers warm and dry. Overall pretty happy with the purchase.

Size is way off so is quality

I like the Backcountry brand, but these gloves are a big miss. The size is way off. I have my trusty Hestra size 10 so I ordered these 10. Look at the picture (black is Backcountry and white is Hestra, both size 10). Backcountry gloves are easily 30% smaller and the thumb is disproportionally tiny. Outside of the size issue, the quality does not instill confidence. The leather is not soft on the palm and the seams are iffy. The cuff on Hestra's (or any the glove I own) ends in a soft ring and kind of widens up, Backcountry glove cuff looks like it was cut by a knife. It is sharp polyester that is abrasive to the skin. The upper part that is not covered by leather is very thin and I can see hands getting cold because of that. I believe that it is the first model of Backcountry brand in the ski glove business and they have a lot of work ahead of them. This first model is just wrong. I do like their products so I have confidence that they will make it right. I don't feel bad about the gloves as they were on sale for $40, so my expectations were not high, to begin with. This pair going back.

Good Value to Quality
- Familiarity:

No paying extra for a brand name on these. Good value to quality. Definitely fit was different than a baseline glove like a Black Diamond had to try a couple of sizes. Long fingers on the size I usually use had to size down. Hoping that the fit will be better once they break in.
