[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter absolutely loves her Zhu Zhu pets hamster and hampster house playser. 
Zhu Zhu hamsters are so cute and adorable . Zhu Zhu's are electronic hamsters that are unpredictable and silly – you never know what they'll do or say next as they take off, spinning and whizzing across the floor! Even her per cat joined in on the fun, kept trying to catch the little hampster. Hours of fun to be had with this playser. Love that my daughter loves her playset  and wants more Zhu Zhu hampster to play with. Totally safe for toddlers and small children.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kids are so happy when I bring home  the playset, they built the tunnel and slides by themselves immediately, and got their Winkie ready to run. Winke is  such a lovely pet, and he runs happily all around, like he really enjoys the playground. Kids were playing the set for hours and asked me for more pets to join Winkie for the race. I checked zhu zhu pet brand, and found their products are actually very popular and not expensive, it is available online and in my local store. I think we will visit the store this weekend. The playset is fun, the toy is made with quality plastic, and the color is pretty, I think most kids will love it at first sight, and enjoy playing it again and again.

endless fun for the kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 5 year old enjoyed the Zhu Zhu Pet Hamster House Playset.  It required and adult to assist putting it together.  She had a great time playing with the hamster.  The hamster would go up the tunnel ok.  When it gets to the top and exit out of the tunnel, the hamster would get stuck and would not go down the ramp.  I think if they would add a tunnel exit right at the top, then the hamster would go through good.

Hamster House Play Set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As soon as I opened the box I could tell my kids would love these little Zhu Zhu Pets. As a matter of fact just the mere sight of the colorful box contained enough exciting antipation I was able to bribe both of my children to take a bath before they could play with it before bedtime. It worked perfectly! Also, it gave me time to complete the assembly of the play house- not an easy task. This is really the only negative part of our experience. The assembly instruction are not very clear and it was a bit more difficult than I had anticipated. After some trial and error and a few unheard curse words uttered under my breath the set was complete. The children really enjoyed watching what the hamster would do next. They also loved discovering each of the 4 modes they could activate. 
All-in-all I would say it was a hit. However, they did seem to tire of it a bit sooner than I thought. That being said, it could be how close it is to bedtime.

Electric Hamsters... what?!?!?!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The excitement on my house when the box was opened was beyond anything we could imagine.  Our Zhu Zhu pet playhouse was well packed.  The only issue was following the instructions to put it together (we used the photo on the box for comparison), they were a bit vague and confusing.  Once we got that figured out the fun began.  Zhu Zhu pets are well constructed,  not too noisy,  and loads of fun. My baby did not want to put it away once she tried it.  We have tried different constructs, some worked,  others didn't. The little cooing sounds that the hamster makes are so cute.  I would recommend this to anyone that wants to get the kids a pet without all of the mess.

Small bundle of excitement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received the Hampster House playset with Winkie. It took me about 10 minutes to assemble the ramp. I assemble a lot of toys but these instructions were pretty poor and confusing causing me to misaseble the ramp at least once. Once assembled it barely wants to stay together, so disappointing. 

My child was super excited to try Winkie's different modes while I assembled the Hampster House.  Loved the dancing and snuggle mode! 

Once it was all assembled my kiddo couldn't wait to send Winkie up and down the slide and see him run around the dining room afterwords. Super adorable!

We've now had he playset for a couple of weeks and I'm sad to report that Winkie has had very little replay action. My child isn't really interested in the playset or even just to play with Winkie on our floor. 

If your child already has other Zhu Zhu hampsters, this might be a nice addition.  But the fragile slide and house wouldn't be where I would start if just introducing the toys to your child.

Entertaining,  but no repeat play

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamster House Playset comes with a house,3-piece tube, spiral slide and a toy hamster named Winkie. Immediately, my two boys, 6 and 3, were excited to get Winkie out of the packaging and ready to fight over who gets to play with it first. They thought the spiky hair was cool and really liked that it was blue. Even though the rest of Winkie was purple, they didn't mind at all.
While the boys were fighting over Winkie, I looked over what seemed like an overwhelming amount of pieces for the hamster house. Usually, I have no problems putting together IKEA furniture, but for some reason, I struggled to put the hamster house together using the instructions. Eventually, I was able to put it all together after ignoring the instructions and just looking at the box to see what the final product was supposed to look like.
The hamster house feels a little flimsy and takes up a lot of space for what it's supposed to do. Winkie moves around the house a bit and then at some point finds its way to the tube which then leads to the spiral slide. A lot of times Winkie would back up in the middle of the tube and not proceed to the spiral slide and instead end back up in the house. This frustrated my boys and they would end up pushing her up the tube so that she goes down the slide. After going down the slide, there's no way to get Winkie to go back to the house and go down the slide again. Having the hamster house makes you realize that even though it takes up a lot of space, you wish there were more to it. It would have been nice if there was a way to have Winkie return to the house on her own so the process of going down the slide can be repeated. If there were accessories that can be added, such as more tubes, slides and other structures, then the house would be more compelling. The only thing I could find was a hamster wheel.
Winkie herself is really adorable. She has three modes of play activated by two buttons on top, one on her head and another toward the back under an ice cream cone tattoo. There's the explore mode where she'll randomly move around and “explore” her surroundings. There's a sensor on her nose so that if she runs into something, she'll change direction. There's also a tilt sensor so that if she tips over, the wheels will stop moving. Another mode is the nurture mode. In this mode, Winkie doesn't move but will react when you “pet” her by touching the button on her head. She'll coo, giggle and make eating sounds. The final mode is dance mode where she'll play music and spin around like she's dancing. She'll do this for about 15 seconds and then goes into explore mode. A final note about Winkie is that it uses AAA batteries which is nice as we have a bunch of those lying around.
Overall, the kids love Winkie and have fun watching her explore. They stopped using the hamster house after the initial excitement. One last thing that was included was stickers which brought out the creative sides of my boys. They really enjoyed decorating the hamster house together. The nice thing is that the stickers stay on pretty well but if you needed to peel them off, they come off pretty easily too so that you can redecorate or correct any mistakes. My older son has asked for a pet hamster before and surprisingly, when I asked if he still wanted a pet hamster, he said that Winkie was good enough. Thank goodness for that and hopefully, that'll last.

Adorable Hamster, Underwhelming House

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Play set was very easy to assemble. Kept the kids entertained for about an hour each day for about a week. The only negative I could see was that there is no support for the long tunnel that connects the house with the slide. This causes the tunnel to sag making it sometimes difficult for the Zhu Zhu pet to make it all the way across. After a few times getting stuck we placed a toy block underneath the tunnel to make it level. Other than that problem, it was enjoyed for a while than ignored unless a friend came over who hadn't seen it yet. My nine year old daughter gave it 4 out of 5 stars. I would have given it 5 stars as a parent, but what do I know.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Me and the kids snapped everything together and instantly loved the lifelike play action. We took the pet out of the playhouse and let the dog run around after it. The coos and gurgles were just delightful.

Kids love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put this set together last night for my kids (6 and 3) and it took me quite a while. The instructions weren't terribly clear, so there was a learning curve. I think my kids got it taken apart in less than 2 minutes. It's not terribly sturdy and the three main pieces don't stay hooked together easily. 
In spite of the set not staying together, my kids loved it. They used the pet with the three main pieces separately, and even ran the zhu zhu pet around on the hardwood floors without the set at all. It really kept them entertained and they enjoyed playing with it. There was a little frustration when they tried to put it back together and the pieces wouldn't stay in place, but other than that it really kept their attention. I only wish it came with a second pet, to make it easier to use together without having to take turns.

Hamster House - Fun But Difficult

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Zhu Zhu pets Hamster House Playset is very easy to assemble, but easier to disassemble.  Frequently the bridge would disconnect with little hands trying to play with it and it constantly required an adult or older child (7+) to help put it back together.  Also, the hamster would often get caught in the tunnel and require you to open the tunnel and take it out.

The hamster that comes with it, Winkie, is cute and the kids loved watching it dance and move all over our wood floor.  The hamster was certainly the only redeeming factor in the playset.

The kids lost interest very quickly in the playset.  They still (after 3 weeks) occasionally play with the hamster, but ofter for less than a couple of minutes at most.
