A must visit for all you Sound of Music fans. Love the story & history of this place, as it continues to flouish. The room was spacious & clean, along with a comfortable bed. We got to enjoy the resturarant, brewery, bakery, gift shops & the history presentation. Which my wife & myself enjoyed very much. We wish the weather was better, to experience the outside attractions, but gives us another reason to come back!!!

DislikedThe first room we were in had to be changed. Went outside on the deck and there were cigarettes butts on the deck and wires on the railing. They changed our room without a problem. The breakfast buffet was marginal and overpriced.

LikedThe room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the view outside and the fact that our 4th floor room, built into the hill was ground level with a patio in the back. We specifically came to stay at the von Trapp Family Lodge and we look forward to a return visit. We loved the cookies and tea and the tours!
DislikedThe dining options were limited when our tours ended at 2pm. Everyone was very friendly except the dining room and lounge staff. We had the last reservation of the night and our waiter really wanted us to hurry up and leave. The food was good but overcooked. We were disappointed about the lack of snow but that was true for all of Vermont.

LikedThe rooms were roomy and the view was stunning. The dining was excellent. The free concert in the Mozart Hall was very enjoyable.
DislikedThe water for the shower never got higher than lukewarm. Very disappointing!
