About

Bear Rinehart unveiled Wilder Woods in 2019, releasing a neo-soul record that focused on new beginnings: the advent of fatherhood, the launch of his solo career, and the updated branding of a longtime bandleader who'd decided to expand his reach. With FEVER / SKY, he widens Wilder Woods' cinematic sound while celebrating the parts of himself that made him most proud. It's a personal, poignant record whose songs focus not upon the horizon ahead, but upon the road itself, stacked high with heartland hooks, western wooziness, southern soul, and festival-worthy anthems.

"I've been in a band for 20 years, and a band is a democracy where you make decisions together," explains Rinehart, who also fronts the Grammy-nominated, chart-topping band NEEDTOBREATHE. "Wilder Woods is a different outlet. I'm giving myself the freedom to do what I want to do and say what I want to say. This isn't the kind of journey where I'm worried about the places I'm headed or the places I've left; it's a journey where I'm just happy to be in the car, driving forward."

Created alongside producer Cason Cooley, guitarist Tyler Burkum, and a small group of collaborators, FEVER / SKY brims with the insights of a family man and road warrior who's spent two decades on tour, balancing his art with his commitments at home.

    Wildly Wholesome

by Ella on 5/22/23Varsity Theater - Minneapolis

Wilder Woods is an honest, wild, storyteller through his music. His concert was phenomenal. My husband and I love his music. It's emotional, full of love, and adventure. We loved listening to him at Varsity Theater. The atmosphere was electric, and fun. Can't wait for him to come back, and create more music!

If you’ve never seen Wilder Woods/NEEDTOBREATHE in concert, you HAVE to go!!!! Such an awesome experience and way better in person than listening in the car. They know how to put on a good show. Forever fan here ❤️

    Bear is the BEST

by Brady on 5/5/23Madrid Theatre - Kansas City

Loved every second. Bear NEVER disappoints even on a random Monday night. His opener Abraham Alexander was wonderful too.

    Sound

    by S. C. on 5/5/23Madrid Theatre - Kansas City

Well I normally don't give reviews, but unfortunately the sound was terrible upstairs. Too loud to understand Wilder and I love loud!!! I'm a regular concert going! When he backed off the mic some, that helped. I still loved his concert. Also, my four top table was not where the pictures showed when I purchased them, that was more disappointing. Picture showed the table right up against the upstairs railing, then more four tops behind us up a little higher. Anyway, thanks for asking for a review and God bless!!!!

    Soulful Experience

by Christine on 5/4/23Center Stage Theater - Atlanta

First time at Center Stage in Atlanta. First time experiencing Bear Rinehart in his solo performance as Wilder Woods. Have seen him several times with NeedtoBreathe. Enjoyed his opener, Alexander Abraham. Lovely young man who shared his humble spirit and soul. Which is what Wilder Woods (Bear) did as well. Bear coming out and singing the last song acoustically just made for a complete evening. My only “negative” thought? Too LOUD!!! I specifically bought concert experience ear plugs because of an experience at The Tabernacle. These helped me but my husband didn’t have ear plugs and he said he couldn’t understand the words AT ALL. I knew the songs so was able to sing along but words were difficult to distinguish from the loud music. I definitely prefer concerts held in an amphitheater to that of a smaller venue like the Center Stage.
