If it is “pouring” out the front, then the installation is not correct.  The unit must be installed with a slight tilt toward the outside of the house.  If it is installed correctly, then you can remove the drain plug on the bottom of the unit to drain any water that collects due to condensation.

The last answer is not necessarily true. I have an artic king thatis installed correctly and I have had for 2 years working great and all of a sudden it is leaking in the front. Trying to figure out why also.

I agree. I live in a very humid climate. I have mine installed at the correct angle, and I clean filter weekly. But, with no drain hole, too much condensate builds up in the unit, much more that can be removed by evaporation. So the hamster-wheel fan kicks up the condensate, which "spits" out of the vents and trickles down the louvers. Enough so that in three hours, a folded towel underneath is pretty saturated. This needs a drain hole on the side, high enough to retain the water needed for compressor cooling, but low enough to get rid of the excess that gets kicked up by the fan.

There should be a rubber plug for the drain under the unit on the back left corner as your facing it. The unit should be level or slightly tilted to drain. Our unit did the same thing until we removed the plug.

IT COOLS FINE BUT IN VERY HOT WEATHER WATER POURS OUT THE FRONT THROUGH THE LOUVERS. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO STOP THIS?

The ESA408NL is an Energy Star rated unit.
The HWE08XCR-L is not.

They look the same but I think the difference is the HWE does not have the EnergyStar rating.  I bought it anyway but if you live in a year-round warm climate you might want to rethink. I&#39;ve operated this for one billing cycle and noticed maybe a $5 increase in my electric bill. with use almost every night and most of the day. It seems to be pretty good with electric usage.

I was looking for model ESA408NL.  I was told at store that this is the same as HWE08XCR-L. Is that true??

Purchased to replace a 12 year old Haier 10,000 btu window unit.  Just installed this 8,000 btu Haier window unit. Air volume and cooling temperature much greater than previous unit although rated at a lesser capacity. So far I am very pleased with the performance of this unit...

Excellent Air Conditioner

I have owned Haier products for years and have never had any problems and as my Haier air conditioner that I had for 10 years finally kicked the bucket it was time to buy another Haier Air Conditioner.!!!!

The only problem that I have experienced with these air conditioners is that they are a little noisy so I do have to put my TV a little louder but that is the only problem I have had and it is no problem to turn the TV a little louder so I can watch my programs.

I love their products and highly recommend them and especially since they are energy efficient.!!

This AC was quite cheap for the money, but there is a reason for the low price.  

1. It is VERY noisy
2. The sliders on each side of the unit are VERY cheaply made and will break very easily (as mine did upon installation)

Not only did I have to chase this thing down after the delivery attempt failed several times, after installed and turned on it blows room temp air. Box and unit had oily liquid on them. This A/C was a dub! Prob a broke refurb sold as new.

BUST!!!

Our old air conditioner worked before we bought this one, except it started making all kinds of noise that was keeping us awake. This was the only reason we purchased this one. This air conditioner works great! It keeps our bedroom cool, as a brand new air conditioner should, however, this brand new air conditioner is way louder than the old air conditioner was. That was the only reason we purchased it. UGH!!!  We are so unhappy!!!!!
