Always wanted a DVR camera system but the price always held me back. i have had wireless ip cameras in the past and they suck even with comcast high speed internet (150mbps), playback was always choppy, low fps etc. but with this system its great so far, I am doing a burn in test of all the cameras before i run wire to install at permenant locations. Night vision works great, playback is fairly easy, I like the mouse that came with the system. like everything you just gotta get use to the setup. Remote viewing is great with the app, however i didnt see an option to playback recordings, only Live playback. Only thing I disliked was on default the cameras lights turn on when it detects motion. You can easily turn this option off but i think it would have been better if they didnt include it at all, kinda dont wanna give away that i have cameras hidden. Dont know if I'm allowed to list the price but I got it for $150 on black Friday.

great value

I tried many of night owl products.  the lower end does not worth a crab.  This C20X series DVR has enough processing power to handle the multiple camera via remote viewing. so far been running for 1 month.  One camera developed stripping.  Everything else works fine.

I bought this a couple weeks ago thinking that one of my cameras was bad, it turns out to be just a bad cable. I'm keeping the cameras just in case I need them in the future. Delivery was super fast I got my package in 2 days. Very pleased with my order.

Super fast delivery

We have CM-AHD10W-BU-H cameras. Very crisp even in low light. Some of them had gotten so old they needed replacing. Unfortunately those cameras aren't being manufactured any longer so we bought 2 of these instead. The quality isn't as good as the CM-AHD10W-BUH cameras. Not terrible, just slightly.

Video quality could be better

Bought 2 more replacement cameras , and these are very good cameras for the price, my system can connect 8 cameras but currently don't need all 8. I started using 720p, but moved to 1080p, but looking to do 4K soon, but will need to purchase different system, because the system I have only can use 720p or 1080p cameras. But 1080p still good video quality, I have enjoyed my systems.

Replacement cameras

The instalation was easy and did not take long. I bought my system on 12/01/2019. Motion sentsor works great and it will send you an email when it detects movement. The footage is good and it does its job. The âNightOwl Connectâ app works well, but sometimes it does not connect to my surveillance cameras. Other than that, I have no other issues for now. The review made by Jack on 11/28/2019 made me want to buy this surveillance camera. Not a bad system for the price.

The photograph shown is of my backyard. I can see everything from the app very clearly. I can also zoom in, but it gets blury.

Great Buy for a Surveillance Camera System

I'd go 5 stars, but the power supply was bad for the cameras that I received yesterday. I'm sure they will replace it once I notify them of the issue. I have two nightowl security products. A 14 camera wired system for my home and 4 camera wireless system for my chicken coop! I am a big fan of Nightowl and their technical support is very approachable and helpful!

These cameras are great. Night vision is good and range is good. Was easy to install and easy to setup on your phone. The only downfall is viewing past events is kind of a pain unless you use the main box itself which you connect to a monitor or your tv. And if you donât know the exact time something happened you could be setting through days of footage to view 30secs. I have mine connected to my living room tv and it pays awesome and gives you great peace of mind if you hear a noise at night or someone unexpectedly knocks at your door, just open the app or change your tv and see the camera instantly. The hard drive will last weeks before it loops over old footage

A solid value

A separate mic connection is needed to receive audio, I've seen it for around$30 but (it's basically designed for indoor). the 1TB hard drive is good though, if want to record continuously. The app is turned out to be good. I'll be adding more cameras with two way communication though (PoE IP 5Mp cameras is what I'll get next time). It will do for the price to get you started in home security though.

Good for a starter system

I thought I was purchasing a new item and not one that had been refurbished.  That would have been fine.  But one of the cameras was a completely different model than the others and did not work.  It was also covered in cobwebs and dirt.  The DVR still contains the previous owners email and password, and I can not access my system.   I am concerned that the previous owner may be able to access my network and have not been able to use the cameras safely
