I have to completely disagree with the other people who have reviewed this issue so far. Batman 50 is nothing less than a modern-day masterpiece. If you’re looking for a corny, golden- or silver-age wedding comic with the Super Friends sitting in the pews, Wendy and Marvin’s Wonder Dog as the ring bearer and a nice, neat, happily-ever-after ending, this isn’t for you. If you want to see the complex, well-constructed, well-planned and thoughtful work of a modern master, Tom King, then this is right up your (Crime) Alley. Tom has taken comic storytelling to new heights with his superb 50-issues-and-counting run. Everything that began in issue one of his run culminates here and sets the stage for the next 50 issues. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I could literally vomit from the knot Tom King has left in my stomach from Batman #50. This is nothing but a repeat of what happened to Batwoman during her New 52 run (and at least the staff was passionate enough to quit instead of continuing to take part in something they no longer could stand behind). I'm both sad and dissapointed as I have previously defended King's style of writing in debates with friends who were not so fond of his writing. Heck, I even eagerly shook the man's hand and gushed over what a fan I was of his work at the last comic con he attended in my state. Please save yourself the money and find something less predictable and depressing to read. While the artwork is gorgeous, the story line will leave a bitter taste in your mouth for a long time to come.

After 46 years of reading Batman you develop certain expectations. I was intrigued by the whole wedding story, I didn't seriously think that Batman and Catwoman were actually going to get married though. But I have become a Tom King fan, like I was a Denny O'Neil fan when I first started collecting, which is weird because I have the same enthusiasm and get the same thrill from reading the monthly comic like I did when I was a teenager. BUT without giving anything away, the comic lived up to my expectations and there was even an interesting twist that I did not see coming at the end.

Gave it an extra star for the sweet inclusion of some of my favorite artists. DC is trash and doesn't care about their readers, though.

I think a lot of Batman readers may feel the way I did after finishing this wedding issue - disappointed.

I won't spoil the ending, but the actual issue felt tedious to read, interspersed with endless 1-page guest artist illustrations covered with endless, boring dialogue balloons.

I gave this wedding issue four stars, instead of the three it deserved, because the artwork was impressive. Sadly, however, the plot was not.

It seemed impossible to not have this spoiled with the press this week. I avoided reading any articles but not seeing headlines is unrealistic. This issue is a masterpiece. A culmination of an incredible stories and a perfect homage to the relationships of the characters we love. Not only the Cat & the Bat but also Bruce and Alfred. Great art, great depth and poetry, great all together. Sit back and enjoy this homerun ball sailing out of the park.

I am a life-long Batman fan, same goes for Catwoman; they are probably my two favorite fictional characters of all time. Across any medium. Their relationship over the years is always one of the bright spots in Batman lore. I've been looking forward to this forever, just like everyone else...
What a huge let down this was. The story takes the same prectictable turn we've seen a hundred times. Every cover they've released has been a deliberate misdirection. Every clue they've given about who will be at the wedding... all of it, lies by DC to sell books.
The art was enjoyable, featuring many of Batman's famous artists from over the years. But the story was cheesey garbage with no pay off.
Really disappointing that they would take such a tired way out. Don't get your hopes up, skip this one.

Tom king and mikel janin are making the greatest comic since mike allred's Silver Surfer... So perfect! Exactly what we've always wanted in comics: a dream, a trip, an adventure... So much fun... (Alright, 50 maybe not a ton of laughs, but a great work nonetheless
