This mixer is certainly NOT five pounds, but maybe in the box for mailing it could be. This mixer is very lightweight and easy to hold.

Mixer works efficiently and as expected. It was very easy to snap in the mixers and then at the press of a button they pop right out for easy cleaning. Cord is long enough to be able to work where you need to be. There are multiple speeds on this unit- I only worked with the lowest speed and it did a great job.

Works great

The Mainstays 5 speed hand mixer is 150 Watts, lightweight and powerful. It has a heel rest, ample cord length, A bowl support knob and something I have not seen before- a beater storage clip. This is not for bread dough as the unit will overheat and the beaters are not made for that type of mixing. I am very please with this mixer.

Lightweight and powerful

I received the Mainstays hand mixer to try and give my honest review. I have to say this mixer does a great job. There are times when you don't want to get the stand mixer out. Last night I had planned on making pumpkin spice cookies. So when it arrived I was so ready to bake cookies. I also made cream cheese frosting. The frosting was creamy and delicious. This is a compact mixer. 
There are five speeds. This mixer is capable of blending several ingredients. 
There is a beater attachment clip to store the beaters when not in use. I like that it's light weight and it's does a great job. Easily stores away. I recommend.

I RECIEVED THE MAINSTAY 5-SPEED HAND MIXER FROM WALMART SPARK REVIEWER. THIS LITTLE MIXER HAS A FANTASTIC SPEED. I LOVE IT. I HAVE A LARGE TYPE MIXER. I LIKE THIS ONE SO MUCH BETTER. THIS LITTLE MIXER'S SPEED IS GREAT ON WHIPPING TO A PEAK. IT WILL WHIP UP POTATOES TOO. IT IS LIGHT WEIGHT AND EASY TO GO ANYWHERE THE KITCHEN. IT HAS EASY CLEAN UP. AND SMALL ENOUGH TO PUT IN THE CABINET . YES I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. PLUS : THE PRICE IS GOOD

FANTASTIC SPEED

This is a review for the Mainstays 5-Speed Hand Mixer with Chrome Beaters. It is white. This is a nice little hand mixer. It is not heavy so if you have a lot of mixing to do (Christmas cookies are coming!) it will not tire out your hand and wrist like some of the other hand mixers that I have had in the past. And it is definitely better than trying to mix by hand. The beaters are dishwasher safe. One thing that I find is sort of cool with this mixer set is the way you can store your beaters. There is a piece of plastic that attaches into the holes where you put the beaters into the mixer. Then you pop the beaters into the plastic and viola! Your beaters are stored with the mixer. I have always hated having to store the mixer in one place and then have the beaters in a separate drawer. This eliminates that problem.

Nice Hand Mixer

This mixer has been a life saver, I don't bake frequently ,so I didn't bother to replace my old standmixer.Since I have owned my new Mainstays Handmixer
I don't know why I went so long without replacing.Mixing my brownie batter or sweet potatoes has been a breeze.
I recently used to mix my mashed potatoes.The possibilities are endless.Thanks to having my mixer.Very lightweight and easy to use.Two beaters are included and there is a choice of 5 speeds to fit my needs.I love love love my kitchen new addition..I'am satisfied with my mixer.

Mainstays 5 speed mixer

What a great deal. I really like this mixer that has nice, thick chrome-plated beaters. Love the on-board storage for the beaters. Good for all everyday tasks. Light weight. 5 speeds cover all my needs, high is very fast. The cord comes off the side so it can be a little tricky but I like that the base is flat so it stands up well. Would make a good gift and I recommend.

Great mixer, on-board storage

The Mainstays 5-Speed 150-Watts Hand Mixer is a good version for an amateur baker. It's nice to have in the kitchen if you're looking to whip something up quickly. If you're making batches of cookies or an expert baker I'd be looking at a stand alone mixer. But there's nothing wrong with having this lightweight mixer in your draw. 
It comes in unique colors too. Mint green and purple iris, also red and white. It's 150 watt hand mixer so I wouldn't use it for thick doughs as in breads. 5 speed and I never use the highest speed because it seems like on that highest speed the batter never stays in the bowl. The 4th speed is usually the highest I go. I made brownies and instead of mixing it in 50 hand strokes this beater was done in about a minute. There is an eject button for the beaters for easy release and they can go directly into the dishwasher. If the mixer needs to be cleaned you just wipe it off with a wet cloth.

Basic beater but does the job

If you need a handheld variable speed mixer that meets the bare minimum, this is a good option. Very lightweight, super easy to use, with all controls right at the top. I really like the eject button for easy mixer detachment, and it has enough power to get the job done on smaller jobs. It has a plate that snaps in to the ports to keep the mixer tools with the unit itself so everything stays together. I do wish this also came with whisks though as that way you could use one machine to handle more than one task, but at a low price point it is understandable why they aren't included. This works fine for a small family but the lack of whisk attachments keeps it from five star level.

Good no-frills mixer

I like that it is light weight and has a decent length cord. The beaters eject easily but 
the slowest speed is very fast. Flour went every where when I turned it on the lowest. I have to put the mixing bowl inside the sink while I'm using it to avoid a mess going every where but other than that it seems like a nice little beater. I've only used it one time since I got it.

Okay little Mixer

I bought this one because it was the cheapest one. I didnt want to spend a lot of money. Had I seen there was a cancer warning  >:/ I would have just paid a little bit more money for one that does not have a cancer warning.. We use it we just have to wash our hands every time we touch the cord :/
