Artscape window films are built to tile in all directions and are designed so they work both in a vertical and horizontal format.
In our Old English design, even the intricate textural designs will line up for a seamless repeat between films. Be careful not to cut the factory edges of the sides you plan to tile.
Many films come in a larger size as well measuring 36" x 72". This larger size will tile with another film of the same size or the smaller version of that design offered in 24" x 36".

This window film was by far the most expensive of the ones I looked at. It was also by far the most beautiful. Application was easy, the only nuisance was cutting it to fit properly in our window, which was time consuming. With the right tools, it would be simple enough. I highly recommend if you want a sophisticated and artsy privacy barrier. Super stoked with this purchase!!
(For reference, this photo is from inside the house, on a grey day with pouring rain.)

A. The background coloring. The Summer Magnolia's back ground does have a horizontal kind of stripping to the grey (when looking at it in portrait view as shown here). The regular Magnolia has more of a mottled background which lends itself to being able to face it in different directions as needed. What this played out to mean for me is that I used the Summer Magnolia in my bathroom where I have a nice big window and I used the regular Magnolia in my kitchen where I Have a series of smaller windows
B. The regular Magnolia is darker and has more colors in play. I know it seems silly to mention, anyone who looks at them side by side can see it but what I really want to point out is that the flowers themselves are multiple colors, some are more yellow, some are more purple, some are more pink where as the Summer Magnolia have more of a uniform light creamy color to them all.
What I would like to review also are the differences between this type of vinyl window covering verses others because there are some that may play a factor in your purchase. The two types I have bought, used and loved for their respective virtues are the ones by Window Art in Vinyl Etchings and those from Artscape Inc (specifically the 2 different magnolia prints they have.) And for both there seem to be 2 main points of contention which I have placed below for your compare & contrast of these 2 useful and beautiful products
So first the window Artscape (specifically Magnolia prints)
The Facts: this is a thicker material than Window Art Vinyl Etchings
Pros: I find this easier to handle because it doesn't stick to itself, as I usually work solo that is a plus
cons: This means that the piece must truly be smaller than the window, if there is eve a little bit that curls up in the corner over time it will tend to curl more and more out (over years)
The facts: These are opaque, you can't see through them (good for privacy)
Pros: The colors remain more what you would expect from the picture, though of course as with any material the light changes behind it do change it.
Cons: At times this does make it feel less like stained glass and more like a colored coloring for my windows (not a true con perhaps but something to keep in mind)
And now Art in Vinyl Etchings:
The Facts: this is a thinner film than those by Artscape
Pros: It can be 'folded' slightly on itself, say if there would be just a small bit you you normally need to trim you can get by without the trim, this also means that if you are like me a cut it while it is stuck in the window (not a recommended practice by any means) you can get it a bit closer than those that are thinker because it will bend a bit further into the window corner.
Cons: it likes to stick to itself much more than the thicker Artscape material. A problem which is easily solved by either having a helper(s) while applying or leaving it slightly on the backing and sort of rolling it off the backing while simultaneously rolling it onto the window.
The facts: It is translucent, meaning you CAN see through the colors (also a fact to keep in mind for privacy purposes)
Pros: To me this makes it feel more like a stained glass window because you can see through it in parts
Cons: this does mean the vibrancy of the colors will fluctuate depending on the lighting behind it.
All in all I enjoy both and recommend either so long as you keep its use in mind (i.e. what do you WANT to get from it and use it accordingly.)
Application:
Both obviously come with excelling application instructions. the only things I will add or attempt to reinforce are:
1. The soapy water spray is your friend, use LOTS it helps your cling slide around without giving you grief, if you have to pull it off for a better angle or anything, reapply the water, believe me it will make your life easier
2. don't just throw away the scraps, if they are big enough cut them up and use them as accent either in an adjacent window or other room. (waste not people)
