    Best Choice for Me

Love this Pixel 2 XL. I've had a MOTO-X for 3 years and was never thrilled with it. AT&T was slow with OS updates. I had a Galaxy before that and those OS updates came very slow as well. However I am not an Apple guy because it is underfeatured, overrated and over priced. What Apple does do well that I wanted is make good pictures, update their OS on a regular basis, good signal in weak areas. So with Pixel 2 XL I got a fantastic camera with amazing pictures, I get Android updates for 3 years first before everybody else, I got the size that is perfect for me, I got clear sound and using voice command I can send a text message sitting in a noisy basketball crowd. Voice to text is super fast and commands work great. Did in front of a co-worker to show off. He was impressed and said that is the way Siri was suppose to work but it just cannot perform. Who was grinning, I was grinning. So glad I picked this phone, it's expensive but it's worth every dime! I use mine on Consumer Cellular GSM AT&T signal with best number of bars.

    Dropped Call Problems

Many people including me have had issues with dropped calls or calls where my voice can be heard but I cannot hear the person I call to. It does not matter which carirer. I reset the network to LTE/CDMA instead of global and turned off bluetooth and data saver, I had hoped this wil solve the prpoblem. Others have tried these measures with mixed success. If you google the problem you will see that it was a nightmare before better revised software became available. I had to return it. Would not work with Google Fi.

  • an Android iPhone

If you are an Android fan and have been troubled with slow response of Samsung, HTC, LG devices that are a year or two old (I came from a Note 4 and HTC One M8), then this is the phone you want. I love the smoothness in performance of the iPhones prefer Android for customization flexibility. Though not on par with the competition at the time of writing this review in June 2018, it is the best bang for the buck. Smooth app performance, extremely good ergonomics (despite a rather large form factor of the Pixel XL), good display (not as vivid as the Samsung note but better than everything else). Love the finger print reader on the back and wonder why on earth was it not put there to begin with for all the other phones so far .. better late than never I guess. Thought that lack of expandable storage would be an issue but Google photos offering unlimited storage when using this device eliminates the need for a micro SD card altogether. There are some challenges though .. but they are mostly with software at Android end than the phone itself. The native email app is Gmail and does not support encrypted Office 365 emails, Calendar does not synch either. But there are workarounds with other apps. So 8 out of 10 there. Get it if you are on a budget or are fed-up with other android devices plagued with performance issues after a 12-18 months in service ..

  • Phenomenal Value!

I adore this Google Pixel XL. I got this one for under $200. The features are extremely impressive and the memory even more so. The camera is supposed to take great pics but I've never been much of a picture taker. The USB-C charger port is a wonderful upgrade from the old Android chargers. The battery life could be better. I keep it on battery saver mode so that it can get me through half of the day. The picture in picture features are a bit of a nuisance but you can dump it in the settings. I imagine TV junkies might really like it, though. Going from a ZTE ZMAX PRO to this phone has been a breath of fresh air without breaking the bank.

  • Great multi-purpose phone that does it all really well

The phone is fantastic. It runs smoothly with a lot of apps running at the same time, it takes great pictures and videos (my hand is generally shaky and the photos and videos are clear, smooth and look professional), and the battery lasts almost 2 full days even when I use it very frequently. I see this phone as being a multi-purpose device, and it does a great job for each of its purposes. I also like the feature to eliminate the blue light on the screen whenever you want (including on a timed schedule) to improve your sleep. Overall, this phone exceeded my expectations and I think it will exceed yours as well (unless you have the Pixel 3 XL).

  • Still a fantastic phone and an unbeatable value!

The Pixel XL is still a fantastic phone in 2019. There is no need to buy an expensive new phone. This is a premium Google flagship with great software, the screen is great, it has a headphone hack, tons of memory, runs latest Android Pie and there is a chance it will get the next Android Q. If not its still a great phone. It still has one of the best cameras of any phone as well. I'd recommend this phone esp at such a low price over many many new phones. Buy this phone + prepaid carrier of your choice and save lots of money.

  • I actually use my phone.. as a phone.

Too expensive for what it is but battery is decent. Kinda miss the camera on my LG V20 but still getting used to this one. Phone quality is OK and Android 9 is ok. Not taking advantage of all the phone has to offer simply due to work/family commitments and the only reason I got it was due to the superb camera... or so "they" claim. My jury is still out on that one. Apart from that - it's a phone. Wifi calling on T-Mo is great.

  • Solid hardware, so-so interface

This is the first Android Phone I've used that was running the stock interface. I have to say I'm not impressed. Everything is fast and smooth and responsive. Screen quality is nice. It is a on the slick side though so I'm sure I'm going to drop it pulling it out of my pocket soon. The fingerprint sensor is nice and works well. I miss having the power and volume buttons on the back like the LG phones I have used (G3/G4/Vista2). I also really miss the double-tap the screen to power on and power off the screen. The Google implementation is severly lacking in comparison. Unlocking this phone when secured with a pattern lock when it is sitting on a table or desk is incredibly frustrating compared to every other phone I've ever used. No ability to add a directly media volume slider in the notification shade is annoying. Being forced to use the gmail app for my office exchange mail if I also use that account as my primary calendar and contacts is also frustrating. On prior Android Phones, Exchange was kept separate from my personal GMail. Not being able to remove the Date Time from the default home screen on the built-in launcher is dumb. All the bright white menus and background is also really frustrating. Again, replacing the launcher made it tolerable. I was much happier with my old LG G4 honestly... if only that phone didn't have such terrible hardware that gives up the ghost after a few months of daily use.

  • Refurbished.Just Like New

Item was purchased factory refurbished but arrived sealed and like new. Working excellent so far. No issues. Biggest issue was trying to find a good screen protector because of curved edge but phone itself is excellent. Love the camera. Battery life for me is excellent. I'm not a heavy user so I can get almost 2 full days.

  • Great phone and feaures

Pixel 2 XL is great phone. Screen, camera, Google features. Reason for 4 starts: phone call quality on mine is not great, using the adapter for ear buds is not good, ease of customizing notifications is not as easy as my LG or Samsung. Other Android phones have setting for sound, vibrate or silent - Pixel 2 XL does not. Very Google centric - taking your first picture will go to Google Photos and does not get stored on the phone - need to get an App for storing locally. But still great phone. Enjoy.
