This Granite Ware 18 in. covered oval roaster browns better and cooks more evenly than any other roaster. The dark interior absorbs all the oven's energy, the steel core evenly distributes the heat and the glass interior doesn't alter the taste. Ideally suited for a 15-pound roast, this oval roaster boasts even heating and faster cooking times because of its unique construction. Porcelain is fused to the steel at 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit producing a non-porous, inert glass surface that is naturally non-stick. Porcelain can chip if dropped, however this does not reduce the effectiveness of the cookware. They are safe for metal utensils, easy to clean, and dishwasher safe!

does this roasting pan include a roasting rack?

Yes, I have done a pot roast and made dumplings on top of the cooked roast and liquid on top of the stove, worked fine. At 15" it works really on one burner but you can put the other burner on and it will heat the pan as well.

Haven't made gravy this way, but I see no reason it can't be used on a stove top.
It's metal, so there's no chance of cracking / breaking.

I think you can but on very low heat. Even so it may brown the bottom.

Yes I have done this but only to add water to the drippings and heat, not to make the rue because there are wavy ridges along the bottom of the pan and of course not on a ceramic glass stove.

Can this pan be placed on the stovetop after roasting meat, on the heating elements, to make the gravy? Thanks.

A Turkey would sit right down in the pan but you could not cover it using the dome lid as will not be high enough for that. Your lid will lack like about 2 inches reaching the bottom pan if you set the lid over the turkey. Use a roasting pan instead.

Everything was perfect except where they put the sticker for the product ~ it is a pain to take them off!! I will never understand why they do that but after the arduous task the pan is great

Fit and cooked turkey perfect

Finally found a oval roaster at a GREAT PRICE. Last one from Walmart lasted over 6yr so I know this will last as long. Plenty of space for your Turkey or ham etc. Food doesn't stick %26 very easy to clean. Handles are positioned perfectly so you won't burn your hands. Definitely recommended

Great pan

It’s just like the one I remember my mama using when I was a kid. I’ve already made a pork roast and will be making short ribs next. It’s the perfect size for large family style meals and the price, (a little more than $17), was wonderful with very fast 2 day shipping. I’m very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone!!!

Perfect roaster!

I like that it didn't take but a couple of days to be delivered.  But the pan was damaged so know I have to take it to a Wal-Mart and hope that its in stock and stand in a long line.

Pan had a dent on it and scraps on very noticeable

the pan its self is what i need but they plastered some giant sticker on the pan you can't get off. WHY?

This was part of an order that was received on the 5th but the granite pot was not ready at that time so I waited and now after saying it was delayed it says received and it is not here. Where is the photo where the item was left and to who?I needed it to cook this weekend and now I need to put back in fridge . My recommendation ? Do not subscribe to no Walmart membership because it gives a lot substitution and also second delivery lost .

Not here . Bad service .

Worst ever. A lot of the ceramic coating is missing. Bought two separate times and both were a problem.  Even went to store and most had the same issue.

So disappointing, there is a huge chip around the top of the pan edge, why does Walmart send these pans out in such thin packaging? Use a box to protect your products. Ridiculous

Damaged

I wish i had listened to other reviews who warned about it arriving damaged but hoped for the best and needed the pan as i was making the thanksgiving dinner for first time. Well unfortunately it arrived damaged. Its also a thin pan. You could feel the damage all the way through to the outside. So for those thinking this pan is like our parents its not. Our parents were heavier and thicker and of course not so easily damaged. Was very disappointed with this purchase. Wasnt sure if itd be safe to use with it scraped like that and being able to feel it all the way through. :(
