- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2016A Vegan Taste of Greece is definitely a wonderful collection of vegan Greek recipes. It is a rare book among Greek cookbooks-and completely satisfying as both a vegan and a Greek cookbook. I gave it as a Christmas gift to a vegan friend who was absolutely thrilled with it. If you favor a vegan diet and have never eaten Greek food you will be amazed with the delicious recipes found in it. And if you love Greek food and are no longer able to eat meat, you will love this book.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2015Great recipes that keep that Greek feel but without the meat.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2008I didn't know about many greek vegan dishes. Most of the greek restaurants I have been to may have a few vegetarian dishes, but not many. This book opened my eyes (and stomach!) to the delights of vegan greek cooking.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2006This is a poorly researched book. Greek cuisine has a wealth of vegan recipes based on vegetables and pulses and one would expect to find them replicated here. Most of them are not. Lenten baking recipes omit eggs and dairy products and not even these recipes are replicated here. It's true that the cost of this book is low: you get what you pay for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little book
Exactly what I was after, simple Greek vegan recipes.
Feels like an old school recipe book that your granny would have had.
No obscure ingredients, all supermarket standards.
No photos, but I know what the dishes look like anyway.
I might not have a Greek holiday this year, but I can still get those beautiful flavours.
Well recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars some really great recipes
I was wary about buying this book due to a poor review on here, however, I dont regret buying it at all. The are some great recipes in here, and I love the mezedes section, with lots of dips, spreads and gyros to name but a few. Everything I have made from here has been successful, and delicious.
be warned however that there are recipes that use tvp etc and vegan chesses, soya milk and yogurt but by no means all of them. I only gave it a 4 star rating because of the lack of pictures( though that doesnt really bother me as my dishes rarely even remotely resemble cookbook pictures!)
