- Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2016I wasn't sure about purchasing these jacks after I read some of the lower rated reviews, but I'm so glad I did! At first I thought the jacks were a little bigger than what I remembered, but then again I was a child when I played so that could be part of it. The jacks are nice and sturdy, and while they aren't the steel jacks of my youth, as soon as I started playing it all came back to me. The ball is one of my favorite kinds--smooth and very bouncy, but not insanely bouncy. There is a seam around the ball but it doesn't interfere with it's bounce. I'm very happy with the set and thought the price was right, too.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2014Most of the jack games that are available in the stores are made of plastic and you just can't get the right heft when you are tossing them. They are also too light to be able to scoop up. You need the metal ones of old. These were perfect and inexpensive to teach my granddaughters what I used to do as a girl. I had to brush up on my skills first though. And getting up and down on the floor may have been the most difficult part of the game.
Lots of fun.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2024I gave a set to two little ones (ages 5 & 6) in the family and they love it. It's different from anything else they have to play with.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2016I was expecting these jacks to be like the ones I grew up with but like others said, the jacks are a little bigger than I remember. They get the job done. The ball is a good one. The price is a little high but the jacks are the metal ones I wanted.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2016I bought these metal jacks for my daughter and I to play. When I was a kid I loved to play jacks and was a favorite pass time for me, my siblings and friends. The kids now a days (usually sitting front of a TV or playing video games) don't know what to do if it's raining and the electricity goes out they get bored. I remembered how much fun we had playing this classic game so I decided to order these and teach my daughter how to play. Now we have a healthy competition going on who can pick up the most jacks. My husbamd even gets in on playing. The jacks are a solid metal (half gold colored and silver ones) and red rubber ball.
Thanks for such a great product!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2011Another nostalgic buy and I'm glad I did.
I vaguely remember the jacks being a tiny bit smaller, but these jacks aren't jumbo by any means. At any rate, the size is close enough to what I remember that I dismiss my worries easily as I play.
The jacks I used to play with were definitely made from metal, but these are plastic. Again, this does not alter the fun level at all.
They only come in sets of 10, so I ordered two. If you play the way I used to: pick up one on the first round, two on the second round, three on the third...etc, 10 jacks will go by quickly. Even quicker if you play with two people. Another good thing about having two is that both my boyfriend and I get to hold onto our own ball when we play.
Now that I'm playing as an adult, I realize how much eye/hand coordination and concentration the game took. Jack disguises all of these motor skills as just a fun game.
