Elixir StringsA-Series guitars are equipped with Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze Light strings to deliver a lively tone and extended life. |
Mahogany or Rosewood
Rosewood models offer well-balanced tone from low to high, while mahogany has a warm, focused mid-range with a quick response. Vintage Natural and Tobacco Sunburst finishes are available with either wood-type.
Powerful Acoustic Sound
A new sound has been developed for the A-series that is louder and stronger in the low-mid ranges, thanks to cutting-edge acoustic analysis technology developed by the Yamaha R&D Division.Their analysis led to the development of the new scalloped bracing for the top board and shorter bracing than normal for the back board.
Treating the tops with Yamaha's exclusive A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) process gives the instrument a rich, vintage quality tone, making it sound as though you'd been playing it for years from the very first moment you pick an A-series guitar up.

Delivery by Amazon and box was in good shape. It comes in a very sturdy soft case with good padding. Would have liked to seen extra padding between the box and neck, but that's just me being a little risk focused.
Tuned up quickly as the strings were slightly loose for storage.
Initial sound seems very deep with lots of resonance. Haven't plugged it in yet to test the electronics.
Stay tuned for more feedback :)

I was devastated because it sounded so dang good. Then I found this guitar while researching. It has an incredible sound and is SO easy to play. The Tobacco Sunburst is gorgeous. I look forward to playing this for years to come and passing it down!
April 11th UPDATE:
Plugged the guitar into my Boss Katana 100 Artist amp yesterday evening......no sound.
This is a sad day. Witing for Yamaha to respond. I may have to return this one.

Dear reader, I have not returned it.
I love this guitar. It cost more than twice as much as my last acoustic, and it is worth every penny. The bottom end is big without being boomy, and the top end has a beautiful chime to it. There is absolutely no buzz anywhere on the neck, and the intonation is perfect. When I strum a chord, it hits me right in the feels, which is exactly what you want when looking for a guitar. I think I got lucky, but it could just be that you really do get what you pay for.
